A legacy forged in blood and shrouded in nightmares.

With everyone she’s ever loved dead, Effie’s fate is no longer one of her choosing. Overnight, she becomes the newest initiate of the Keepers of Prophecy, a secret order that Sees what the future holds.

Forced to rely on her tutor and Guardian, her inner turmoil deepens when feelings within herself—those she thought died with the man she loved—resurface. One man would give up everything to be with her. The other challenges her at every turn.

Struggling to focus amid her awakening desires, Effie fights to unravel the truth buried within her nightmares. Will she discover it in time to be the salvation Elysia needs...or will one wrong reading damn them all?

Pure aural alchemy - Duet narration forever!!

This is, quite simply, one of my favourite audiobooks of the year so far (and this is book 1 of 3)! This year I have discovered Meg Anne's work from her incredible Undercover Magic series and the EPIC Mate Games series (all available on audible) so I was really excited to see one of her previous series being brought to audio.

It did not disappoint and this is a fully immersive dark fantasy novel which really does bring in the creepy factor. It is set in Meg Anne's Chosen Universe but she is so expert at subtle world building that you do not need to have read the previous books in order to be completely drawn in and understand where you are. This book deals with some dark issues in a world that is still facing a looming sinister threat, our young heroine Effie sets off on a journey away from her home and friends to join the mysterious Keepers after she discovers her gift of prophecy.

Gift or curse, the novel delicately pulls at this thread and draws out the inner conflict of young Effie as she struggles to interpret her visions in the hope to warding off the foretold end times. Effie is a wonderful sparky, sometimes petulant, but fierce and kind hearted young woman desperately trying to prove herself. I love her.

This book is definitely for those who enjoy high stakes fantasy like Lord of the Rings or Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter series which I totally got vibes of while listening to this. Its also a delicious slow burn romance with a potential love triangle emerging for Effie between the beautiful and arrogant exiled prince, Kieran and the broody stoic alpha male Guardian, Lucian. This is the definition of slow burn, brace yourself you are in for the long haul for the pay off.

But all of the above is exponentially increased by the performances of the three voice actors brought in for this book and the absolute game changer of duet narration!! I've only been introduced to duet narration in the last few months thanks to these US Indie Authors and I am here to plead the UK audio producers WE NEED MORE OF THIS!!!!

Anyway, I digress, back to this particular audiobook, these three actors are INSANELY awesome in this and manage to perfect encapsulate the atmosphere of the book and bring to life all of the characters so vividly that you feel like you are right with them performing a play right in front of you. Stella Hunter is truly remarkable at bringing the multifaceted Effie to life in a way that you just can't help but fall for her. Shane East brings out his smoldering deep voice to perfection for the brooding Lucian but also scaring the living daylights out of you as the creepy Triumvirate. James Joseph is my personal obsession since I discovered him back in May this year, he is an amazing chameleon like voice actor from his smoky seductive drawl for Kieran, to downright scary Shadows and then a Dumbledore-esque Cyril. He can literally do anything and will just make you melt everytime you listen to him.

In this audiobook you can indulge in additional James Joseph as it includes the prequel novella, The Dreamer, which is about Kieran's backstory and its a sensational listen if you want to hear a masterclass in storytelling.

Basically, this book is freaking awesome and I am humming with anticipation for the next book which I can already tell will amp up the tension even more :)

I loved it!

This is the first book in The Keepers trilogy, a dark fantasy and forbidden romance set within the Chosen universe (book 6). This audiobook includes The Dreamer, a prequel to this fantastic trilogy. The cover is awesome! Effie and Lucian's emotional adventure, is filled with angst, action, and mystery. The characters are well developed and mysterious. The world building is fantastic, original, and enthralling. This audiobook is wonderfully narrated by Stella Hunter, Shane East, and featuring James Joseph. They bring this story to life with all the feels. The audio production is excellent. Looking forward to listening to The Keeper's Retribution, the second book in the trilogy. #AudiblyAddicted

* * * * * Excellent Start To The Series * * * * *

Before I start my review I should say that I read this book back in 2019 when it was first released and although I enjoyed it immensely I wanted to experience the audio version because of who the narrators were. I have to say that after listening to this book I had to stop and gather myself before I could put pen to paper or in my case touch my keyboard. How do I write a review saying how much I enjoyed the story without giving too much away? The simple answer is I can't so in an attempt to give a non-spoiler review I will just say I loved everything about this book and am looking forward to immersing myself in the whole series. I can tell you about the world-building, tell you that if you close your eyes you can see it, you feel like if you stretched out your hands you could touch it. I can tell you about the characters, who are so well-drawn and exciting, I fell hard for Kieran but then we meet Lucian and.... Then there's Effie who wasn't anything like I thought she would be after Kieran described her, I just loved her strength it was unexpected. But I love a strong female lead character, and she was much stronger than even Kieran and Lucian were prepared for. I so loved the tooing and frowing and the battle of wits and wills between Lucian and Effie and I also loved the chemistry between these two who are drawn to each other but must stay apart because of their duties.

The last series I listened to by Meg Anne, The Mate Games was narrated by the same talented team, as well as a few others, so when I saw who Meg Anne had chosen for this series I just knew the series would fast become one of my favourites. The talent and voices of James Joseph and Shane East give me goosebumps both are so sexy and delicious, but the range they have means that their interpretations of the other male characters are just as impressive. Stella Hunter is always perfection personified, her accents, depth of feeling and pure talent mean that whatever the story, whomever the character she can do no wrong. I loved her interpretation of Effie she captured her character perfectly.

Now we just have to wait for the next book to find out what more the author has in store for Effie. Will we learn what is Kieran up to? If the next book is as full of dark forbidden fantasy as this one it will be worth the wait!

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Angsty love!

The Keeper's Legacy by Meg Anne was such an exciting listen! I was intrigued from the very beginning. After listening to the Novella - The Dreamer I was all in! This was my first adult fantasy romance and my first Meg Ann solo book - I can't wait to finish this trilogy!

There was never a slow moment in this story - Effie was such a strong heroine -while on her mission to find out more about her powers you get the pleasure to watch her grow into her own. While she's still young, has her flaws and still needs to be rescued very now and again - Meg Anne does an amazing job keeping you on your toes, constantly guessing and thrilled to find out what happens next.

The narration was perfect! Stella constantly blows me away with her ability to pour all of the emotions into any character. She made the strong, sassy Effie the heroine you always want to root for. Shane is brilliant as the guardian Lucian. And what can I say about James Joseph that hasn't already been said? James portrays Kieran fabulously.

Overall, I really loved the start to this story - I said it before but I cannot wait to listen to what Meg Anne throws at us next!

WOW! What a story!

Exciting fantasy and incredible characters, Meg Anne begins the next part of the Chosen series! Talk about a thrilling paranormal story! Starting us off is a novella, The Dreamer giving us a look at Kieran. As a prince we expect him to have a wonderful life, but it is anything but! Thanks to his father, secrets are kept, and we his background, we are easily transitioned into the book. The book is all about Effie! Very strong heroine, which I love, and we get to see her grow and build confidence in this fantasy realm. With Lucien and Kael as her guardians and Kieran as her guide, the angst is added and it let's us delve into her journey. Meg Anne gives us a little of everything, from Effie's lonely childhood to the visions we try to decipher! It's action packed, full of sexual tension and an exciting listen! Bring on the next one!

To make it even more thrilling, we have a stellar narration cast. First it's Stella Hunter. This woman is the master of accents, and knows exactly the emotions to inflect to make us feel attraction, tension, fear and love. Next up we have Shane East who brings out all his voices, from evil to protector and creates a world easily capturing our imaginations. Last but not least, the talented James Joseph. Every voice, from old, and I mean very old to young, he makes each character real and believable. And it's in duet! Fantastic listen, and it should not be missed!

Adult Fantasy Romance

The Keeper's Legacy by Meg Anne is an adult fantasy romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Stella Hunter, Shane East, and James Joseph.

The audiobook includes the prequel The Dreamer and the first book in the series The Keeper's Legacy. I really enjoyed having the prequel included since it gives Kiernan's history.

I liked that we got Kiernan, Effie, and Lucian's points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life. The book ended on a cliffhanger which wasn't a surprise since it's the first book in the series. I can't wait for the next book The Keeper's Retribution to be released on audio so I can get more of Effie's story.

Stella, Shane, and James did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like fantasy romances.

Wow. 5 stars across the board

Excellent narration as usual. I was immediately hooked, partly because of the fabulous narrators, but the story kept my attention as well. I don't particularly care for slow burns in ANY genre, but there are always exceptions :) Looking forward to the next book!

Terrific Story & Listen🎧 Brilliantly Fascinating!

Meg Anne pens another amazing novel, an action-packed fantasy paranormal romance that is captivating from start to end. She created an imaginative and fascinating world with equally fascinating and imaginative characters and magical beings. The audiobook includes the “Keepers” prequel “The Dreamer”, and gives up Keiran, the crown prince of Eatos’, story. It shows where he came from and how he winds up where he is in “The Keeper’s Legacy”, it also shows us the woman of his dreams, Effie who he not only meets in Legacy but he is to tutor her. It also introduced another character, Lucian, her guardian. Effie is training with the other Keepers in the citadel, there are changes going on in their world and they are preparing to protect it. Effie is learning her footing and her capabilities. This first book is laying down the foundation for what is coming in future books. The fast-moving story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, some mystery, twists and turns, thrilling & suspenseful moments, and a slow burn romance. Meg Anne, thank you for this amazing story and the wild and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fantastic narration, Stella Hunter, Shane East and James Joseph do an amazing job bringing these characters and their story to life. They have a complete understanding of the who the characters are and play their roles with perfection, giving each a voice that fits their character’s persona to a tee and are believable in every role they played. Stella Hunter plays Effie as the powerhouse she is, Shane East’s Lucien is smooth and tough, then switches it up sinister style with Smoke and Mirrors, James Joseph’s Kieran is charming and swoon worthy. These entertaining storytellers are top-notch narrators and versatile voice artists, their narration enhances this already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
