About this listen

Rabbit Hayes loves her life, ordinary as it is, and the extraordinary people in it. She loves her spirited daughter, Juliet; her colourful, unruly family; the only man in her big heart, Johnny Faye. But it turns out the world has other plans for Rabbit, and she's OK with that. Because she has plans for the world too, and only a handful of days left to make them happen.

"What a beautiful book. I cried and smiled my way through" Jane Green

This isn’t my normal genre of book but I thought I’d give it a go, broaden my horizons and all that, and it was beautiful. I actually laughed out loud, I cried and I empathised. It was a wonderful book.

I loved this book. Heart warming, funny, sad. A definite 5 stars. Not depressing at all. Didn’t want it to finish.

Anna McPartlin portrays captivating characters who deal with past memories, present grief and real love.

Beautifully written, full of real people

It feels like it should be super sad and it is and it isn’t. Less about a dying woman and more about a woman with family and friends learning to cope with her future loss but also relationships and mutual love.

A book full of amazing characters in a poignant setting

I loved this book, made me laugh out loud and cry uncontrollably - all while getting strange looks from passers by! Loved all the characters and seeing things from the different perspectives.

Fictional real-life

A simply lovely empathetic story, I first read the book then decided to listen to it on Audible. The characterisations and the accents were spot on. Congratulations to both the author and narrator.

Simply brilliant!

My second book by Anna McPartlin and her writing is just gripping from beginning to end. I listened to this without even reading the reviews or synopsis so was blissfully unaware of the content. Recently I’ve grown tired of listening to feel good unrealistic books and craved some real stories with realistic, relatable themes. This had everything. At points I laughed so hard out loud that people near by gave me dirty looks and others I was sobbing.
I won’t divulge any information about the book, just listen, it’s really worth a credit!

Superb listen. Highly recommend.

I found this book in paperback on a Turkish holiday hotel book cupboard. I read it and put it back for someone else to read. This book is so many things, a wonderful, bittersweet love story, a story of the importance of family and friends. I am a palliative care nurse, so the telling of hospice care resonated quite profoundly with me. As an audiobook I use it going to sleep, in the gym and ironing. It’s a wonderful story 👏🏻

Love this book.
