About this listen

The perfect family. A moment that will change everything.

Emma thought she had the perfect life: a beautiful home, a loving husband, and a gorgeous son.

She was wrong.

When she wakes up to find herself in hospital, Emma has no memory of how she got there or why her husband and son won’t come to see her.

What happened to Emma’s family?

Emma is desperate to find out what happened - and that her loved ones are safe - but remembering the truth could be the most dangerous thing of all....

This book did hold my interest but I was expecting more at the end. I thought the twist was going to be more interesting than it was. It wasn’t bad though and fairly enjoyable.

Not the most amazing twist I was expecting

Wow. This book had me hooked from the beginning and guessing until the very end. A rollercoaster ride of a read. Highly recommended.

Wow!! Tense, thrilling and ultimately shocking!

There is a story in there and I kept listening because I wanted to get to conclusion but ...... the narrator is monotone, pitch doesn’t change even when some quite dire things are occurring she just plods along with no emotion. Also, and here it’s really irritating, the story could almost be written by two people, the language flows and seems appropriate and then suddenly bam the most odd vocabulary - bearing in mind the story is a first person narration the character comes out with some lines which made me cringe and think whoever would actually say that, no one ever. I thought about returning but got halfway and stuck with it, wouldn’t read a book by this author again though.

Stilted narration and odd tone of phrase

I knew from the moment that James appeared that the story would end as it did. I am not normally good at predicting stories, so it’s my opinion that it was far too obvious. The explanations et cetera very labourious and a bit tedious at times

Too predictable
