About this listen

Yami prefers to be known for her killer eyeliner, not for being one of the only Mexican kids at her new, mostly white, rich Catholic school - or for being gay. So after being outed by her ex-best friend, before transferring to Slayton Catholic, Yami decides to lie low, make her mum proud and definitely NOT fall in love. The thing is, it's hard to fake being straight when Bo, the only openly queer girl at school, is so annoyingly perfect. And smart. And cute. So cute.Told in a captivating voice that is by turns hilarious, vulnerable, and searingly honest, The Lesbiana's Guide to Catholic School explores the joys and heartaches of living your full truth out loud.'Sonora's voice is one to watch!' I loved this ♥️

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Reminded me of my experience of being queer in Catholic school! Very well narrated too ☺️.

Loved this!!

I enjoyed listening to this story very much. The characters are likeable and interesting.
Heartwarming and funny. There are some hard topics in this book, Homophobia, racism and suicidal ideation, however handled sensitively.
I enjoyed the narrator, her voice was very easy to listen to and somewhat reminiscent of Vanessa Hudgens. I would 100% recommend this book.

my fav audiobook!

this is the first audiobook i've actually really enjoyed and finished. i usually dislike how they are narrated, the narrators voices either bore me or irritate me, but this narrator was perfect!! the story is so wholesome and heartwarming too, it deals with difficult topics and i loved listening to it

fantastic book

CW: racism, queerphobia, suicidal ideation, cops, deportation, forced outing, bullying

Though the Lesbiana's Guide to Catholic School covered some heavy topics, it does what a lot of YA often does, really well: handling heavy subjects with care and delicately.
