Summary

The journey that began in The Shadow of What Was Lost and continued in An Echo of Things to Come now comes to its spectacular conclusion in The Light of All That Falls, the final chapter of the Licanius Trilogy by acclaimed epic fantasy author James Islington.

After a savage battle, the Boundary is whole again - but it may be too late. Banes now stalk the lands of Andarra, and the Venerate have gathered their armies for a final, crushing blow.

In Ilin Illan, Wirr fights to maintain a precarious alliance between Andarra's factions of power. With dark forces closing in on the capital, if he cannot succeed, the war is lost.

Imprisoned and alone in a strange land, Davian is pitted against the remaining Venerate. As he tries to keep them from undoing Asha's sacrifice, he struggles to come to terms with his own path and all he has learned about Caeden, the friend he chose to set free.

And finally, Caeden is confronted with the reality of a plan laid centuries ago - heartbroken at how it started and devastated by how it must end.

One of the most satisfying conclusions to a trilogy ever.

Loved this. Tied the first 2 books up perfectly, excellent.
Would love to hear more about *minor spoiler alert* how the red knight came to be.... a novella maybe?

Just the right length

This series was great and this was a nice ending to the story line.
I did find the ending slightly expected but it was well written and performed.

There are a lot of characters to keep up with, and the narrator did a great job of ensuring you know who is who easily but I did have to remind myself every know and then who was who from a story point a view especially as some characters have multiple names!
Overall the trilogy has been really enjoyable and I enjoyed each book.

Stick with it.

Long listen that for me was difficult to stick with in the middle but a satisfying ending.

A trilogy worth investing in

I plucked the first book in this series fairly randomly from a set of well reviewed fantasy works. Once in I was pretty hooked and consumed books 2 and 3 in quick succession.

It’s a beautifully created world with a sweeping narrative and a joy to see how all the pieces interweave and tie together at the end. I was genuinely moved by the time I reached the conclusion and wish there were more books by the same author.

I highly recommend picking these up!

Very satisfying ending

Not quite as easy to follow as some other fantasy books but still enjoyable. Some excellent characters and the time travel idea was delivered well with a very good and satisfying ending.

Incredible Story

Thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy, one of the best by far. The author is amazing and the narrator is second to none. I highly recommend the experience.

Brilliant Story

Very good story. I wish that the books would be little longer to allow us to understand characters deeply. Some conversations are childish.

Really enjoyable and a great end to the series

I was really looking forward to the 3rd and final installment in the series. Characters were fully fleshed out and felt relatable. The flow of the story was good and it was nice to see how everything came together in the end. Great listen - would recommend

Bloody Brilliantly

Absolutely brilliant. One of my favourites definitely. The way everything ties up through time left me a bit slack jawed....I normally see things coming but there were a lot of surprises. Brilliant!!

Excellent read.

Hard to follow at times but book three explains all. Persive and you will be rewarded.
