The Second Draeken War has yet to occur, but his victory is assured. When all life stands on the brink the nations will be forced to gather but it will be too late. The army built to exterminate them will not fail in its purpose. Unless the future is altered. Eleven impossible tasks will give the races a singular hope, to defend their lives as one people. Their completion will not be known. Their impact cannot be measured. But even the Oracle cannot do it alone.

Awesome!

So usually I cringe at the idea of a prequel, it frustrates me to add a beginning to a story after it has finished. BUT in this case it is so well done I utterly adored it. It had to come after because it would have given away too many secrets if it had come before the previous 3 books in this series. Don't even think about not reading this if you have finished the trilogy on the war uniting all races - and if you haven't read the first three then go get them now and once you are done read this one. I am totally already planning to read them all again, lol.

Should be book one

This book starts the journey of Lumineia and if you want to grasp the other books better then start with this one it's a flawless story and fills a lot of gaps it doesn't spoil anything but it does explain much

it's a good story

it's not what I expected, thought it would have been all magical, and stuff but I suppose it wouldn't have been practical, for a story

This is a prequel to the trilogy

Although this is book 4 I recommend that it is read first. This is the prequel to the 2nd draeken war trilogy and it tells the story of Ianna and Mazer. Ianna is the oracle and can see the future and she sees the destruction of everyone in a future war with dark demons but she also sees a number of ways that she can intervene to improve the chances of the people of lumineia winning....this is the list as in the title.

the perfect prequel

Any additional comments?

I bought books 1-3 ,then checked out the series before listening to see how many more books were there, a customer review of book 4 said that it really should have been book one and anyone starting from scratch should start there, so that's exactly what I did and it fits perfectly! starting from book 4 gives you a greater insight of the story line and knowledge of some of the main characters and their back story which made book one a far more enjoyable "read" would definitely recommend

We Train to Fight to Fight for Life

This review refers to the series.

I have loved all of Ben Hale's books and the depth of world and character building and this last book, in particular, was my favourite as it showed the history of the preparation for what was to come and the sadness that would have to be endured.

The narration by Derek Perkins has added to making this series a must to listen to.

Great Listen

On the advice of other reviewers I listened to this book first. It was thrilling and now I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!
