Summary
The Living Book is written by an extraordinary woman. Her words, if not her intuition, were borne through being immersed in her own family tragedy. She found a way to live through it with grace; something she finds shines light in dark, unbearable places.
The audiobook is designed to be a companion, a friend. You won’t find judgement or blame, but will find truths in yourself and others around you. It nurtures the soul and feeds the imagination.
The author, Penny Waite, has written the words from a heartfelt place, a place full of giving to help others find a positive way through life’s journey - with grace, but also with hope, inspiration, and courage.
One early reader found herself tackling a problem - slight to many, but constant to her - head-on, finding more honesty in the situation and giving her the strength to move past it after many years of troubling interactions. In doing so, she feels grace has returned; she feels free of the mental burden.
With Penny’s graceful skill, you are taken into the Energies of Surrender, Acceptance, Permission, Choice, Gratitude, Forgiveness, Love and Connection and shown, by putting them into action in a positive and mindful way, how they can collectively transform your life.
The audiobook also contains many beautifully crafted stories that serve to illustrate the wisdom, nurturing the soul and feeding the imagination to help you feel uplifted.
The Living Book delivers a powerful message in a kind yet compelling way. Penny gently challenges you to open up to other perspectives, to accept without blame, to listen to your heart with kindness and understanding.

Beautifully read by the author herself
Beautifully written book where Penny shares her experience of tragedy in the death of her son and how she found a way to live through it in a positive way. This is a must read, not only for those who have suffered loss as Penny has, but as she takes you though the Energies of Surrender, Acceptance, Permission, Choice, Gratitude, Forgiveness, Love and Connection, it really is a book for everyone who wants practical tools to help improve their life. It’s also full of metaphorical stores that really help bring it to life.
I’ve read the book and also listened to the audio which is narrated by Penny herself and particularly enjoyed listening to her calm, gently voice which helped me to digest it on a much more deeper level.
I thoroughly recommend it.

Invaluable in the face of grief
Where does The Living Book: Surrender to Grace rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I believe that everyone should have The Living Book - Surrender to Grace in their library - because everyone at some point will suffer grief to a greater or lesser degree. Penny Waite's message is clear; that even in the most tragic of circumstances the soul has the power to take charge of grief and, rather than be overwhelmed or destroyed by it, to take control back and decide the way forward. I wish this book had been around 25 years ago when I suffered a loss I was utterly floored by, but most of all I'm grateful that I have it now because should anything like that happen again, heaven forbid, then I am ready. Beautifully told, bravely written - the sharing of a story which has the invaluable gift of healing and empowerment.
