Summary
Angie Rosewood makes a big mistake: She falls in love with her employer’s son, Marcus Donahue. By some miracle, he falls for her, too. If they are caught speaking to each other, she will be fired. Marcus swears he’ll take care of things, but he doesn’t get the chance.
After Marcus leaves on a business trip, Angie is summoned to the housekeeper’s office. The head housekeeper takes joy in telling Angie she’s been seen kissing Marcus, and her employment is terminated.
Suddenly, Angie is homeless and scared. When she reads an advert for mail-order brides, it seems the only answer to her prayers. Angie heads to Fort Regent, Wyoming, to meet Robert Beekman. But what should be a happy occasion soon turns into a nightmare.
Angie fears she is in danger and longs for Marcus to come and save her, but he has no idea where she is. How could she hope for a rescue from the man she loves?

What a great historical romance
I love this author‘s books in mail Order bride stories or up there with shape shifting romances and are one of my guilty pleasure. With Susanna Callaway‘s books however you don’t need to feel guilty she has a great plot and an even better romance. I don’t want to end this review without saying how awesome the narrator was I really love their voice and thought she brought a lot to making this a great audiobook. Please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

Love, love, love this!
This book is a breath of fresh air. Set in a time when it was frowned upon to marry out of your class, we meet Angie. Caught kissing Marcus, the son of her employer, she is fired when he is on a business trip. Not having a place to go, she finds herself going out west as a mail order bride. And what a groom she finds! Robert is less than desirable, and doesn't have a nice bone in his body. What will she do? Susannah Calloway gives us a good twist with this story, and I absolutely have fallen in love with Fort Regent, Wyoming! The characters in this story are true to the time, and the story is a little suspense and romantic!
Bringing it to life, Sarah Kisko finds a voice suited for every character. From the warmth of Marcus to the devil in Robert, she nails each male voice with ease. As Angie, she is young and scared, and then as her good friend Maggie we have a comforting voice. She pulls out all the stops for this gem and gives a fantastic performance.
