About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Lydia, Robyn and Dean don't know each other - yet.

They live very different lives, but each of them, independently, has always felt that something is missing.

What they don't know is that a letter is about to arrive that will turn their lives upside down.

It is a letter containing a secret - one that will bind them together, and show them what love and family and friendship really mean....

beautiful tear jerker

Beautiful story of human connections, relationships and the sense of belonging.
A well written, beautifully read tear jerker.

My 2nd book by Lisa Jewell, so much better than "then she was gone" which had left a somewhat uncomfortable, bitter aftertaste for a rather long time.
I'm glad I gave this author a 2nd chance.

Readable but not gripping

Excellent narration by Laura Aikman. Well written. I did not get gripped by the plot, however. Definitely enjoyable but maybe not my favourite Lisa Jewel book.

Thought provoking

Interesting exploration of children born of a sperm donor. As usual for Lisa Jewell we’ll plotted and deep complicated characters.

Really interesting

I really enjoyed this book. It was very different to a lot of other Lisa Jewell books I have listened to, but heartfelt and very interesting. Quite thought provoking. I liked the characters and was invested in what happened to them. Loved it!

Sweet

I love Lisa’s books and downloaded this one hoping to love it as well. This book is sweet but nothing really anymore, no gripping storyline or excitement. I enjoyed it but wouldn’t recommend to people looking for the usual Lisa Jewell mystery she is famous for.

More of a heartwarming reunion story

I really enjoyed this book, however if you're looking for a classic Jewell suspense story then this isn't it. Be more prepared for a heart warming story of reuniting families. Overall though, a really lovely story but not at all mysterious and thrilling as her other books.
I did find it very moving and was intrigued to know what was going to happen. The only negative thing really was there were moments in it where even the dialogue was predictable, and I found the narrators voice to be a tad grating at times, as she sometimes stuck with the same monotone voice.

Misses the Jewell thrill

A lovely book and an easy lesson but was missing the twist, or the thrill I’ve come to love and expect of Jewell.
