About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Two lives are about to be changed by one phone call....

When Davey misdials Hannah's number, at first they think nothing of it.

After all, Davey lives in Texas, and Hannah lives in London.

But when Davey gets a job in London, their paths are sure to cross. As messaging turns to video calling, this feels like the start of something.

Weeks later, Hannah is waiting for Davey at the airport, but he never walks into Arrivals.

When Hannah finds out why, her world is turned on its head. And with their future so uncertain, each must pick up the pieces of their lives.

Will fate intervene once more to bring them together? Or will Davey always be the man that Hannah never met?

Gripping performance

Audiobooks are fast becoming my go to reading method of choice. This audiobook was my companion this week and so realistic in the performance that I laughed, cried, commented out loud as if these were my friends. Such an engaging story and so wonderful narrated that I found myself telling a colleague about the events ensuing, from the meet cute to the shambolic interactions with ‘rebound boy’ and the story within a story of Room with a View. It became a daily catch up. Did my colleague nearly cry yes. Did she smile with relief yes. Me too!!!

I just didn’t want it to ever end. What a beautiful story. Easiest five stars I’ve ever given.

If only I could give 6 stars!

The Man I Never Met was my 100th book for 2022, and I had my fingers crossed it would be a belter.
I haven't read a book as quickly since I was a girl feasting on Enid Blyton. My whole world stopped for me to devour this treasure of a tale. Hannah and Davey's love story will make you reach for your hankie and laugh your socks off.
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous.
It would make an excellent Christmas Gift.

Wow could not stop listening

Firstly, I have to say that romance isn’t my usual genre, but something about this book caught my eye. Literally I was gripped from the very start and could not stop listening, and I started to panic when I realised I was nearing the end! Perfect performances from both narrators and such a beautiful story.

A good will they won't they

Although a little predictable I did enjoy this book and was eager to find out what was actually going to happen. It's feel good and they narration was brilliant. I felt the narrators really matched the characters so was really easy to imagine the story 🙂

What was the point of this story?

Most of this book is about everything but the love story between two main characters. Very strong , sweet and compelling beginning to be wasted for the rest of this book talking about their life continuing without each other. It's hard to even call it a slow burn. Is author sure this story wasn't about Hannah and George?
I'm so dissapointed because beginning was so good and then you get nothing. HEA is the last 15 minutes if you want to skip to it and you can't listen anymore about George.
