About this listen

The Man in the Iron Mask continues the adventures of the dauntless heroes of The Three Musketeers - Aramis, Athos, Porthos and d'Artagnan. In old age their swashbuckling ought to have been replaced by a more gentle way of life, but the veteran warriors find themselves at the center of a plot in which both hearts and heads are broken, and the very throne of France is at stake.

Another good book by the author

Again, a grippinook, though not quite the Count if Montecresto. Wit, valour, intrigue, all there. Would have preferred it to be longer though.

Disappointing! Fantastic narration

Some fantastic parts
The seige of the grotto was atmospheric and awesome but but too many questions !
Killing off main characters ..
Is a book after it ?
What the hell happened to Phillipe’?
Aramis?
Argh!

Ps

phenomenal!

Bill Homewood, you're a magnificent narrator. Monsieur Dumas would be proud of the way this enchanting and inspiring book has been brought to life.
The movie did this book no justice at all.

read Monte Cristo instead

shapeless plot, overlown bombastic space filling, generally disappointed. this was written not as a work in its own right but as a sixth of a megaproject and was issued in serial form. so the plot is incoherent and there are lots of filler chapters of little value. read Monte Cristo instead
