Editor reviews

Short story writer, poet, and novelist Rudyard Kipling’s dark tale will surprise the many listeners who only know his work celebrating the British Empire’s outpost in India, as well as the Disney version of his Jungle Book. Dermot Kerrigan is artful with his performance of the different characters, as well as the horror that builds from a drunken man who desecrates a statue of a god and is then bitten by a leper. Seemingly captured by an "evil spirit", his escape is made possible through a local priest’s kidnapping. This selection is from the Great Ghost Stories collection.
