__________________________________________

Nicole Monroe is in a rut. At twenty-four, she lives alone in a tiny apartment in her hometown in Indiana, she's just gotten a DWI, and she works the same dead-end job she's been working since high school. Everyone has felt sorry for her for the last seven years - since the day her older sister, Kasey, vanished without a trace.

On the night Kasey went missing, her car was found over a hundred miles from home. The driver's door was open and her purse was untouched in the seat next to it. The only real clue in her disappearance was Jules Connor, another young woman from the same area who disappeared in the same way, two weeks earlier. But with so little for the police to go on, both cases eventually went cold.

Nic wants nothing more than to move on from her sister's disappearance and the state it's left her in. But then one day, Jules's sister, Jenna Connor, walks into Nic's life and offers her something she hasn't felt in a long time: hope.

What follows is a gripping tale of two sisters who will do anything to find their missing halves, even if it means destroying everything they've ever known.©2025 Ashley Flowers (P)2025 Random House Audio

Editorial Review

Don’t even try to guess
I made the mistake (actually, it’s a habit of mine) of trying to figure this thriller out about two pairs of sisters who join forces to each find their missing sister. Oh, did I mention there are no bodies? Could they have been kidnapped and living in pure hell? Ashley Flowers sure knows her way around twists. Leads go nowhere fast. Every now and then she throws something promising the listeners’ way and takes it back, or leads you one way that’s the wrong way. She’s also quite the narrator along with uber-talented Saskia Maarleveld. What is very touching about this story is the power of sisterhood and its unbreakable bond. —Yvonne D., Audible Editor

I was hooked on this book. It held my attention as it was such a good storyline.
Found it frustrating when I had to stop listening as I needed to do other things.
I’m now going listen to the other book by Ashley Flowers. Definitely recommend

I was not sure where this was going at some points but stuck with it and ended up liking the whole story and narration...kept me interested and the ending was clever...

Do yourself a favour and read this book. Great pace, great characters and a really twisty plot that keeps the reader guessing. Have to find Ashley Flowers first book now so I can binge some more from this fantastic writer

Great book

Having listened to crime junkie over the years, I expected this book to deliver, and it overdelivered! Waiting for more!

Even Better than I imagined

The ending of this novel ruined what had been a decent read. I really enjoyed the last novel by this author but this one would put me off reading another of hers.

Unfulfilling culmination
