About this listen
Translated into over thirteen languages, John Keel's unsettling account of what he encountered in Point Pleasant has long been regarded as a classic in the literature of the unexplained. It is now the basis of a major motion picture starring Richard Gere and Laura Linney.
The Mothman Prophecies is also available in print from Tor Books.

Excellent
A true classic, a truly in depth study of the phenomenon's that gripped a generation. there are not many people that would have made such striking insights into their own behaviour and truly seen how their behaviour influenced the way that the whole scenario played out.

What have I just read?
First of all, the narrator is wonderful.
Now, to the book - very weird. It seems to be a whole bunch of anecdotes from people who have witnessed weird stuff. If there was some logic to how they were grouped, it wasn’t apparent.
The book appears to be claiming to be non-fiction. To be fair, although some of the stories were far fetched, to say the least, they were quite terrifying as a work of pure fiction. I’m struggling to take this book seriously, but I did enjoy it.

the depth and breadth
Much more than the basic facts. This book really helps you understand the extent of the phenomenon and its varying guises.

Forget the film
I very much enjoyed this audio book and the style of Keek's writing. The film of the film version only really scratches the surface of does not reflect the weird things that were happening in the run up to the collapse of the bridge at Pount Pleasant. The narration is very good by Craig Wasson and I will look out for other titles where he is the narrator.
Keel describes events and characters that come alive in this presentation and the story caputered my imagination despite my skeptical view point.

Fantastic book and expertly narrated
I've always been fascinated by Mothman and wrote about an incident that took place in Caddington, Bedfordshire around 1981 that was very similar to Point Pleasant. Keel's book is a classic, whether you believe the eye-witness statements or not. The men in black are also fascinating in that they are far more interesting as these strange individuals who are slightly off, rather than those popularised by Hollywood. And the narration is first class. I wish Craig Wasson narrated other books by Keel.
