Summary

A BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation starring John Moffatt as Hercule Poirot.

Mrs Farrars is found dead of an apparent overdose one year after the death of her husband. The villagers of King's Abbot are suspicious. The rumour is that she poisoned her husband and was in love with Roger Ackroyd. When he is found murdered the following day, there is little to go on.

Luckily one of the newest residents who has retired to this normally quiet village is none other than Monsieur Hercule Poirot.

Another Fabulous Christie ❤️

This is another superb Agatha Christie. Marrows, Village Gossip, Jealousy, and Murder ! A well presented play fabulously performed by a professional cast of well known names.

Hercule Poirot who is trying to be retired and spends his time in his garden with his lovely marrows, one of which he throws and lands onto his neighbours lawn. Superb old fashioned wit takes us through this excellent murder mystery.

I have 'all' of these wonderful Christie Radio Plays in my collection. They are so good that I find myself listening to each and everyone over & over. A very enjoyable way to relax and spend a cosy few hours.

wooden narrator takes edge off one of the greats

wooden narrator takes edge off one of the greats. Agatha Christie wrote five or six true classics and this is one.

BBC radio adaptation at its best

Worth listening again, and again. Well cast and keeping the plot twist well hidden until the end.

Wonderful

This was one of Agatha's masterpieces, dramatised so beautifully. As an author who adapted their own works, I can't help wondering if she would have enjoyed this version of her story too.
