Summary

The earl’s goal was to find his missing sister. The last thing he expected to find was love.

Having spent two years abroad to avoid his father’s schemes to see him wed, Oliver Darby returns to England to claim his inheritance. As Earl of Stanton and a confirmed bachelor, he expects to settle into a comfortable life. But when he discovers his sister, Rose, is missing and has not been seen for six months, it’s evident his father is capable of manipulating events from beyond the grave.

When Nicole Flint accepted the role of paid companion to Lady Rose Darby, nothing was as it seemed. Whisked away from London to a haunted manor that once housed the insane, the two ladies are kept prisoner, with no hope of reprieve. But when an opportunity arises for one of them to escape, Nicole knows she must be the one to stay. After all, her purpose for working has nothing to do with money and everything to do with the need to hide from her controlling brother.

Thrown together in a wild adventure full of lies and deceit, guilt forces Oliver and Nicole to search for the lost Lady Rose. The overwhelming attraction that exists between them only complicates matters. He’s a man driven by passion and lust. She’s a lady looking for true love. But on their journey of discovery, both must learn that the two are inexplicably entwined.

Features: A Regency historical romance with an emphasis on mystery. This novel contains some descriptive sex scenes.

A brilliant start to the series.

My favourite genre is historical mystery romance. The Mysterious Miss Flint fits the bill perfectly. There's plenty of suspense, a few twists and a good mystery for Oliver and Nicole to solve whilst falling in love with one another. I loved the Gothic feel to the beginning of the novel where Rose and Nicole were kept under lock and key in a former asylum in the countryside. It was quite an exciting start to the story.

Oliver and Nicole made an adorable couple. I loved how much care Oliver took of Nicole and how he always took her side in any argument involving her. The ending of the story left me wanting more. I am especially intrigued about Rose and I can't wait to find out what happens next. I'm also hoping to see more from Oliver and Nicole as well.

A very entertaining book. I will definitely want to read the rest of the series.

annie

I enjoyed the story but far too much sexual content in the end was skipping the pages of it boring and not needed

Too graphic

The storyline was good but the sex scenes did not enhance the story in any way.

A good plot

I enjoyed this book, there were unexpected twists. I was not keen on the narrator, I like my characters to all have different voices sometimes it was difficult to tell who was speaking

Is there a story? Or is it sexual rubbish.

The weak story is wound between his "cock stand" and her "peculiar feels in her hidden parts". Most of the story is about their lingering sexual tension. Everytime they looking at each, it overcomes all. The narrator does her best to try and improve this rubbish, but fails.
