About this listen

A unique offering from the Queen of Crime. This Agatha Christie Signature Edition features the hero the world-famous author was most fond of – Mr Harley Quin, the enigmatic friend and counterpart of the rational Mr Satterthwaite.

So far, it had been a typical New Year’s Eve house party. But Mr Satterthwaite – a keen observer of human nature – sensed that the real drama of the evening was yet to unfold.

So it proved when a mysterious stranger arrived after midnight. Who was this Mr Quin? And why did his presence have such a pronounced effect on Eleanor Portal, the woman with the dyed-black hair?

You won't be disappointed with these stories.

I love these stories of Mr. Quin and Mr. Satterthwaite. All the stories are interesting and Mr. Quin is so mysterious.

Superbly narrated by Hugh Fraser.

Marvellous!

This maybe one of Christie’s lesser known works but it’s still definitely worth a look. Beautifully written and masterfully narrated — a must for those who like to indulge in a little mystery!

The amazing Mr Quin!

I love this collection of short stories by Agatha Christie, which feature the quiet but observant Mr Satterthwaite and the mysterious Mr Quin. Mysteries to be solved (not always murder) and a sense of the darkly supernatural. I particularly enjoyed 'The Dead Harlequin' story. An overall interesting mix (some better than others) but all enjoyable. Hugh Fraser does an excellent job as always narrating the stories.
