Excellent Lecture!
Get your notebooks and Bibles out!!
Sometimes books on any religious topic can be stodgy or biased: this is neither. The lecture covers a great deal and is to the point but giving good examples of Prof Ehrman’s reasoning.
This would interest Christians who genuinely want to know how their scripture came to be and for genuine theologians who like to understand the historicity of the Bible.
Professor Ehrman is NEVER rude or condescending to people’s faiths, he is quite literally talking about the history of how the New Testament came into being.
If you love Scripture and find it fascinating, you’ll enjoy this lecture. However, if you’re a fundamental Christian who thinks that the whole of the Scripture is ‘God breathed’, I suggest you go elsewhere.

Fascinating and Educational
I bought this after reading Ehrman's recent book, "The Triumph of Christianity", and really enjoyed his unique perspective. Every lecture on this course was packed full of information, but never felt over-loaded. I have a library full of Great Courses audiobooks, and this is among the best!
Would highly recommend!

a must listen!
Bart is great at presenting his work. I appreciate his timing and emphasis...It’s a large body of information based upon a seemingly dull subject but, as always he presents information that brings the subject to life.
Was sad to hear it end and look forward to listening to another of his books.

Engaging and thought provoking
Don't listen to it if you wish to believe it is genuinely gospel. The lecturer is clearly knowledgeable and thoughtful on his subject. As the most important work of literature in the Western world, we should all hear this. Even if its faults are so evident.
