About this listen
You've heard this story before: a guy supposedly kills himself, but his best friend can't accept it. He calls in an investigator he knows to take a second look, certain there's more going on.
I'm the investigator. Secret Service Agent Sean Avery. The guy who called me? My ex, Vice President Jonathan Sharp. And the guy he doesn't believe put a bullet in his brain?
That was President Steven Baker.
The deeper I dig, the more things fall apart. I've got a dead president inside a locked room. A hidden note. A secret gun. A missing CIA officer.
And no one I can trust.
Now Jonathan's in the crosshairs, and if I don't figure out what really happened that night at Camp David, the love of my life might be the next president to die.
This M/M romantic suspense features smoldering forbidden love and a May/December second chance romance that ignites.

Narration: Great performance.
Good, but could have been great

John Solo irritates the hell out of me sometimes..

It starts with Sean, a Secret Service agent patrolling the grounds of Camp David during a G8 summit. He's thinking back to the last G8 summit, 1 year ago when things went horribly wrong for him, what? we are not told at this time.
Enjoy these quiet moments with Sean's musings because, once a gunshot is heard, it is fast paced and completely engaging as you try to work out what really happened and what had Sean so distressed with his memories of 1 year ago."
The above was my review after reading the eBook and I couldn't wait for the audio-book, however, I think I prefer the former. I really like John as a narrator of Tal's books but he can be a little over-dramatic at times and occasionally the voices blurred into one, so I was unsure who was speaking. I was happy with his interpretation of Sean's voice but not so much with Jonathan. And, please don't get me started on the "British" accent
Tal Bauer is a master storyteller

🎧 John Solo nailed Sean. He was perfect with his rapid fire, dry delivery and made palpable Sean's shifts in emotions. Then Solo let the story down by giving everyone else (bar FLOTUS and an Elderly Man) similar growly or angry vocals. These butch | macho portrayals were off the mark especially for Jonathan. Solo's Achilles heel is atrocious accents and oh dear. It speaks to the calibre and quality of the writing that regardless of the narrator, l remained joyfully invested from the get go to the very end!!
Fast & So Much Fun!!
