About this listen

Four girls close their eyes. Only one wakes up.

Leah and her three best friends get changed into their pyjamas, eat pizza, and argue about what film to watch. They laugh together, until the early hours. But the next morning, Leah blinks open her eyes and sees three empty sleeping bags. The other girls are gone.

Twenty years later. In her small hometown, still-haunted Leah has never been able to shake off the rumours and whispers. How could she have slept through it all? She must know what happened.

Now, a documentary is being made about the night Leah’s best friends disappeared. Is the truth about to come out?

Then an anonymous email arrives in Leah’s inbox. "Stop them."

Somebody out there knows what happened the night of the sleepover. Is Leah in terrible danger? And will she ever find her missing friends—or are some secrets meant to be kept forever?

An absolutely addictive psychological thriller with twists and turns that will make you gasp. Anyone who loves Lisa Jewell, Shari Lapena, or The Perfect Marriage won’t be able to stop listening to this.

Not the best of Kerry Wilkinson, I’m very sad to say. I love the Jessica Daniel series, so was expecting big things, but I won’t be reading the sequel. Was an ok listen though.

Ok Book

Resisted fast forwarding to end, its ok, just not riveting. Not a shocking ending tbh.

I loved this book the characters are very likeable and the ending had a real twist.

What a twist

I found the story and performance very average. The narration is very monotonous and the story is not that griping. Good ending.

Another story from Kerry Wilkinson that takes you down strange alleys that seem safe but not .

You thought it was going one way but went another

a bit slow but that may be the flat narrator at times, she went really slow and it affected the pace of the book overall, which was disappointing. Could have been more fast paced

the woman reading it sounds drunk and it's too slow pace sometimes

I was very much looking forward to listening to this book as the author is one of my favourites, alas, i was left disappointed.

The narration felt very monotone, which made the book seem much more drawn out than it needed to be. i was close to fast forwarding some sections but i stuck with it.

The premise of the story was intriguing from reading the summary, however there was no 'umph' to the storyline and it left me feeling a little deflated as i wanted it to really amp up, there was plenty of opportunity for it to do so.
The ending was pretty predictable and obvious from around halfway through the book.

Having said all this, i don't want to leave a totally negative review as it doesn't deserve one, as i said, it was good, but could of been so much better. I hear there will be a sequel to this book, which i will be listening to as i am sure there is so much more to the story that can be developed.

Overall 6.5/10
