Summary
2045, the Arctic Circle. A crew of six aboard the research vessel, The Nox, embark upon a voyage through the melting ice and Arctic dark in search of the last of the polar bears. The mission represents a ray of hope in a world ravaged by climate change, but it quickly becomes clear that some on board are in search of more than bears....
Isolation and the disorientation of 24/7 darkness soon have the group losing their grip on reality – accidents, nightmares, or hauntings – no one can be sure, but the voyage seems cursed. For Professor Clara Fitzgerald, the mission quickly turns from conservation to survival as she realises that danger lurks not only out on the ice, but on The Nox itself.
The Nox is a nightmare fuelled SciFi thriller that asks how far is too far to save the world.
Executive Produced by Derek Kolstad (John Wick, Nobody, Falcon and the Winter Soldier), written by Lead Writer Joe White and Co-writer Catriona Ward. Starring Lashana Lynch (The Woman King, Captain Marvel, No Time To Die, Matilda), Ralph Ineson, (The Witch, The Green Knight, The Northman), Michiel Huisman (The Flight Attendant, Game of Thrones) and a full cast. Music by Laura Rossi.
Directed by Colin Carvalho Burgess. Produced by Coex Studios.

Great performances, trippy story
Not what I was expecting. A sci-fi near future adventure of sorts into the polar regions that ends up being a surreal non linear tale exploring grief, insanity and death. Difficult to follow in parts but ties up nicely in the end. Excellent production values and best listened to on good quality headphones.

Worth trying
I’m torn - on the one hand, the story is gripping, the performances very good. On the other though, sometimes I found it difficult to follow and couldn’t quite work out what was going on. I expect this would work extremely well on screen, probably better. Worth trying though!

The radio play format didn't quite work
This could have been an interesting story with the help of some narration. Instead, it ends up being frustrating and quite hard to follow as it bounced between dreams, memories, and reality. It's worth the brief listen none the less.

Ending not right
I enjoyed this and the performances were good. However I was looking forward to a better ending. Disappointed.

Good but a bit woke!
The performance and production was good. The story was okay although I didn't like the unnecessary woke inclusions. It's free so give it a whirl but I wouldn't pay for it.

The Nox
Not for Audible it needed a visual. It would have been a better TV sci-fi drama.

Great
all the cast are spectacular, Ralph ineson is somehow more baritone than ever before and I love it. The writing was sleek and emotive, the sound design was spectacular

Hooked me right in!
This is an easy listen. Well read and acted, the Nox is an exciting and entralling story of a crew searching for a way to save the planet. At times it felt like a ghost story and this makes sense given the powerful theme of sleep running through the twists and turns of this story.
