About this listen

A new novel set in the universe of The Empire's Corps! When Sameena's brother accidentally annoys a religious leader on her homeworld, her entire family is targeted for elimination. Forced to flee to save her life, Sameena stows away on a trader starship and is eventually welcomed into the crew, embracing their very different culture and making a new life for herself amongst the stars. But the Galactic Empire is starting the final descent into chaos and her new home is on the verge of collapse, while secretive forces are maneuvering to take advantage of the Empire's collapse. If Sameena cannot find a way to keep some small part of civilisation intact, the galaxy will crash into a new dark age that will last far longer than a thousand years.

To be honest I wasn't quite sure on this book at first.
I was missing the Marines and wasn't keen on the direction the was taken the main character
But once we got going I got into it and really enjoyed it.
To summarise, slow starting takes a bit to go going but the finish is strong.

Another good instalment

Another exemplary addition to a wonderful series throwing into releif how a society comes to an end through ignorant and badly educated establishment And reliance on financial sleight of hand over production which actually creates wealth.

excellent

I enjoyed this, although I was a bit uncomfortable with the stereotyping of Islamic society. Apart from that, it's good, honest space opera.

The usual good stuff from Nuttall

Didn't expect to enjoy this one as much as the others in the series. It turned out to be the best one so far. Loved it!

Best Yet

Still enjoying this series very much, apart from one feature. The expression “scowl”.
Please, please, try to drop this expression as it really does spoil an otherwise great storyline.

It is only for this reason I have marked it down one star as this expression adds absolutely nothing to the book.

Scowl!
