Summary
I brought her home from the hospital. But she wasn’t mine to take…
All I’ve ever wanted is to be a mother. And as soon as I looked into the beautiful, bright blue eyes of this baby tucked in her blanket, my world felt complete.
Stepping into the cold air outside of the hospital doors, a shiver runs through me. I know my life will never be the same again. I slip off her little white medical bracelet and put it in the pocket of my jeans.
I think of the woman upstairs in the hospital room who will soon return and find her child gone. I hesitate. Am I doing the right thing?
I remind myself of what she’s done. I remember the blood, the police sirens, the secrets she’s hidden. I must keep this sweet, innocent child safe. The lies I’ve told are nothing in comparison to hers. This baby is better off with me. But when everyone finds out what I’ve done, will anyone believe me?
A heart-pounding, emotional rollercoaster that will leave listeners breathless. Fans of Freida McFadden, Lisa Jewell and Liane Moriarty will be gripped by the non-stop twists.

I couldn't have guessed the ending.
I had presumed, this was just one of many predictable books, on this subject. Knowing how many authors choose this theme. I was pleasantly surprised with the twists and found them very originally spun. The latter part of this novel kept me guessing, it became a convoluted storyline. The ending was different for a change.
It really makes you think how easy it could be, to take anyone at face value and become friends. I don't want to give spoilers, and for that reason, I believe listeners and readers alike should just give this novel a chance. I see nobody seems to have reviewed it yet on audible. The narration is very good, and the ending......well personally I think the author, maybe should think about a sequel. It's not a complicated book, easy listen/read.
Plot wise definitely a page turner. Especially re: highly charged and emotionally driven characters, that could lead the listener down any number of paths! to the conclusion.
