A Practical Guide to Staying Calm
This book gave me a fresh perspective on handling life’s challenges. The techniques are simple to understand but push you to think deeply about your reactions and mindset. I’ve started applying some of the practices, and I’m already feeling more grounded and less reactive to stress. It’s not overly preachy, which I appreciated—it feels like advice from a wise friend. If you’re looking to build mental strength and find more peace, this is a solid pick.

Timløess Wisdom for the Modern Age
I've always wondered about Stoicism because I study topics around the Bible and apostle Paul meant some Stoics in Athens. So it was wonderful to listen to this book which not only tells about Stocism but gives us advice on how we can apply some of the practices of Stocism in our daily lives. Some of the wisdom of the Stoics is timeless and sometimes the principles sounded like what we are learning in modern-day motivational talks, especially for example on self-control and accepting the things you can not control. This book is clearly narrated and includes practical exercises so you can use stoical ideas to improve your modern life. It teaches from well-known historical philosophers like Marcus Aurelius and Seneca. I highly recommend this book if you are interested in Roman History, The New Testament or philosophy or just want timeless wisdom to improve your life.

Ancient wisdom meets modern day burnout
Skip the Instagram-style Stoicism quotes and dive into this surprisingly practical guide for handling life's daily chaos. The author expertly translates ancient philosophical concepts into actionable techniques that busy professionals can actually use, avoiding the usual self-help fluff. While some exercises feel basic for philosophy veterans, the four-virtue framework and meditation practices offer genuine value for managing workplace stress and digital overwhelm. The step-by-step approach makes intimidating concepts digestible, though occasionally at the expense of deeper philosophical nuance. Perfect for stressed-out professionals seeking more than just surface-level mindfulness tips.
