It's comprehensive and exhaustive but a little dry and remote. Opposite of the history telling of a David Starkey type.

Well researched . Supplements to the there say, the evidence are interesting but can further be added! Overall, it gives a very good narrative of the era

The characters of each king, marvellous narrated.the murders of Edward I and Richard II are well put with deferring theories

A well crafted historical journey. Full of detail but written in way that makes you want to know what's next. It felt as though I was there living the trip through history. Dan Jones writes in a way that teaches and because of his the beautifully written book I find I have retained a lot of this books contents.

Was possibly a bit long and repetitive at some points, but maybe only 10% more should have been edited out. Dan Jones tells the complicated story very well. I would have liked more of a set up for the next time period - The Hollow Crown
