loving it,, I can relate with this soooo much in my early researcher journey...effing up meetings, messing up, having panic attacks... and spend hours in the library, very distracted..haha look forward to the solutions

The author has some moments where the usefulness of the content helps you finally overcome the many limitations, but I wished I had liked it more.
The content is helpful to some extent, but the author humble bragging about his achievements does interfere with the listening experience. Also, he should have definitely let someone else read the book. Speeding up to 1.5x helped not falling asleep and making him sound less pedantic.

Having got my masters in 2004, I recently began my doctorate. I know, large gap, not working in academia either and VERY rusty. Was refreshing to find this book with some very useful ideas around the literature review process. Feel like I’ve been pointed in the right direction having run around in circles for the past couple of months.

I've read a lot of productivity books but I think this is the only one that really gets to to the heart of the majority of productivity problems I have experienced and witnessed in academia. It is also great to be able to listen to it cf reading, as this is how I read most books these days. Full of concrete tips, as well as helpful anecdotes that explain the meaning of the tips and help to make the link with every day life. Huge thanks to Mark Reed for being prepared to share these experiences for the benefit of the rest of us. I will be recommending it to everyone I supervise. I particularly like the way the book discusses a lot of people-focussed, yet vital, things that are often ignored in mentoring e.g. the description of writing circles. I'm optimistic that this book can help us all achieve more (and be better collaborators)!
