About this listen
The Station Core known as Milton has barely survived the first concentrated attack by hostile Proctans, leaving his "dungeon" destroyed and most of his defenders dead. Not the most auspicious start.
But now, with the addition of Brint and his inventor friend, Whisp, Milton now has the tools available to turn his dungeon into one that should easily defend against all comers - or at least he hopes so.
However, when the Cordpower Company - the makers of the original Power Potion - contract the best of the best to find out what happened to their agents, Milton’s dungeon is put to the test against two Proctans who are way out of his league.
Meanwhile, Brint learns more about his ability to control the Combat Units that Milton creates, eventually being put into a position to lead an expedition into the Quizard Mountains. He hopes to find enough resources inside the caves to fully outfit the dungeon, making it even deadlier than it already is.
Unfortunately, he finds something else....
Contains litRPG/gamelit elements such as level progression and experience, optional tables, no harems, and a heavy dungeon core emphasis.

Series expands nicely in this second instalment
This is the second book in the series and you would lose a lot if you jumped into the series at this point. This book does a good job of building on the foundations of the first one, increasing the challenges for the dungeon core and expanding the main cast quite nicely.
Unlike the first book, you do not have any significant time skips as the series seemingly reached the main time period it would focus on by the end of book one. One slight negative for me is the way the stats are presented, while they are skippable in theory (doesn't work for hands-off listening), it does seem like the flow of the book would be better if the focus was on the significant changes.
The narrator does another good job with an increasing cast of characters and helps to enhance the book.
Overall, a strong follow-up that draws the listener further into this series.

Great series - much recommended.
This series continues to delight - I love its different approach (at least to what I’ve read previously) and in particular the humour the author brings to story and its characters who start to feel likely family. Highly recommend this series, it’s a great listen!

Not as good as book 1
This book is a down grade from book 1. The fact that the main caricature was picked as one of the world's best games? he sucks and just seems like he not bothered until what ever big thing happened next and the same goes for his new best mate. I'm going to give book 3 a go and I'm hoping that it's not all about another core that make army's for him to stumble his way through.

GameLit with a survivial slant
I enjoyed the first book in this series, and enjoyed this one more.
It's a well told and well performed story. I particularly like the rationale used to get the stats system into the world. It fits, and is a clever justification.
Since this is a GameLit book about what is somewhat a survival/resource management game, the pacing reflects that, rather than high action, but that makes it feel like a gentle read, rather than seeming slow.
Definitely a series that I would recommend to fans of the genre.

An excellent progression from book 1
Having listened to book 1 as an early foray into this genre I was excited to see the progression of the story & characters. I wasn’t disappointed.
Although I was initially expecting a more space & universe traversing Station Core I was still happy with the dungeon based storyline progression.
The pace of this book ramps up a couple of notches and kept me engaged & entertained to its conclusion.
I especially liked the way the author brings in characters that you can empathise with & despise with equal measure.
The narrator does an excellent job and is a pleasure to listen to.
Onto book 3 - Great job Jonathan & Miles

Great story
Great story, a bit slow at parts, but other than that very good. Definitely worth the read.
You really get to know the characters, even the side characters!

love this story
I love the narration. the voices of the characters and the storytelling are easy to keep apart. I personally love the stats but appreciat the skip possibility.
there is a very nice pace in the story with a good amount of actions and events troughout. The characters are diverse and welk thought out.
looking forward to the next book.

i like the book but...
I like the plot of the series and love the character developments i even like the stats but i just can't get over the cursing. like there are Full sentences of cursing. this is a good book but for some people some like me that amount of cursing is a no-no. esp for an audiobook. but i would still read it and recommend it because it is a great book with a great story. however, sorry although it was a great performance and the plot is good, i would probably stick to Reading this than Listening to it. will probably enjoy it that way. so if you are not averse to cursing like a pirate/trucker and you like Dungeon Litrpgs that involves stats(i love those) you would love this book series. Just try it!

Great sequel, can't wait for the next volume.
The great story and narration keep you immersed in wat seems to be turning into an epic saga. Can't wait for book 3 to be available as audiobook. Didn't think bloody battles could pair up with overwhelming cuteness. :D
