About this listen

When Erik and Rugrat entered the ten realms they didn’t know what was going on. They only knew that they had contracted the two week curse.

When entering the second realm they came to understand their character sheets, and part of the system that is called the ten realms. A place that the strong make the rules and the weak cling to them for protection and hope that they might be left in peace.

They passed through the trials of the Beast Mountain Dungeon, taking control of it and becoming the leader of nearly 200 people.

Now in command of the Alva Dungeon and looking to forge a new future, they need more power, mana stones, dungeon cores, monster cores, if not then the Dungeon will stop functioning and they will need to relocate once again.

As they ascend to the second realm, Erik and Rugrat need to grow their skills, gain information, and find a dungeon. It’s hardly ever that easy.

let a woman read the female parts

it's around £26 for full price so why can't you pay for a woman to read the female parts? it's the only thing about the book I don't like. other then that really great story so far.

It started with a two week curse

This has been a four day curse, I couldn't put it down. After the 4 day curse another curse started called, "Get The Third Realm!"

Has been a good listen, more on progression than fighting but good all the same!

Extremely pleasing.

Loved the hell out of the book.

Only issue I had was that the author called the Marines Drill Instructor a "Drill Sergeant."

Andi should've mentioned this in the first book review, but combat medics in the Marine Corps are called corpsmen/corpsman. They are also in the navy, not the Marine Corps, since we don't have a medic field.

But I learned to ignore those simple errors, and enjoy the book. It is absolutely awesome. Can't wait for the next one!

Hurry up Todd! There's like three or four more books for you to narrate!

Excellent

I usually wait until I've finished a series before writing my reviews.
Books 1-5 in this series are excellent. Great character building and the narrator really brings everyone to life.
Books 6+, I'll never know.
The narrator changes and its hard to tell when a character is speaking or if it's the story being narrated.
Everything is the same. I couldn't finish book 6a (the shortest book in the series).

If you can accept not finishing a series and leaving on a high note, Books 1-5 are great.
If you want to listen to the entire series, listen to samples from Books 6 onwards to see if you fall asleep or not.
The story is still excellent but the narration completely kills it.

I can recommend the book, but I cant recommend the series as a whole.

Review

So far I am enjoying the ten realms storyline. Though I preferred the narrator of the first book.
This narrator keeps putting on overtly exaggerated east asian accents (as in old school stereotype 'Engrish') which I can't decide if it's a bit racist or if I am just being too sensitive.

low quality writing

really fun book let down by writing quality.

In the context of progression fantasy, this book is a 4 star read. But let down by poorly written sub characters that all sounds the same and generally poor writing.

A very good popcorn read.
