Summary

***THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER***

Escape to the seaside this summer with the brand new novel from Heidi Swain, the Sunday Times bestselling author of feel-good women’s fiction. Think idyllic beaches, refreshing rock pools and breathtaking romance. The PERFECT summer read!

Following a shocking revelation within her family, Tess Tyler is looking to escape her hectic city life – and where better to hide than Wynmouth, the seaside town she visited as a child, with its sandy beaches, stunning rock pools and welcoming community. But little does she realise, Wynmouth isn't quite the haven she remembers it to be, and her real life is still threatening to catch up with her . . .

Also returning to Wynmouth is Joe. Having fled over a decade ago after an accident that changed his life forever, he’s back and is determined to face his demons. But, like Tess, Joe realises that the town is nothing like he remembers and quickly his arrival brings old tensions to the surface.

As the pair begin to familiarise themselves with the town they once knew, they each realise that the secrets they carry are becoming harder to conceal – but will revealing them bring the answers they’re looking for? Will Tess and her new friends finally get the second chance they’ve been hoping Wynmouth will give them?

lovely easy going story

I enjoy listening to the story, a typical romantic story but would buy again.
If you like 'me before you ' or 'ps I love you ' it's similar and as good.

Nice but a bit dull

Sometimes I found myself busy thinking about other things as I was listening to the book as it was a bit dull in places.
Great narration as always by the amazing and talented Karen Cass.

*Assumptions*

Tess is in need of a break as she works tirelessly for her demanding father who runs the family successful marketing business. Another thing that irks her is that he rarely shows any affection and in her eyes her poor mother is neglected and seems to fill her days shopping. All is not what it seems.

When her mother dies suddenly of a heart attack Tess cannot understand her father’s distant and cold behaviour, as they decide to go through her mother’s belongings he is detached. So when Tess finds a trunk and in it are letters that in her eyes proves his deceit. Instead of tackling her father she decides to run off to Wynmouth.

Wynmouth is very special to Tess she fell in love with it as a child, it is also the place of where she had her forever kiss that kiss she never forgot. Armed with her letters she decides to have a hiatus no phones, social media etc.

Tess is renting a cottage from the owner of the pub Sam and is instantly attracted to him but shelves the idea because it looks like he has a girlfriend

One of the things that the cafe owner says to her is whatever happens make sure you have all the facts. Does Tess listen, she goes on to make one assumption after another and makes a mighty mess of her own making burgeoning on the irritated side and makes one faux pas after another. The biggest faux pas is the assumption she makes about her father…. we find out at the end of the book I guessed half of it but got more than I thought.

An easy read even though I wanted to scream at Tess who never seemed to learn from her lessons….

Really Enjoyed this Book

This book was really up my alley. It was a really easy listen but with some twists and turns to not make it too predictable & cheesy.
I would definitely recommend it.
