Summary
Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein, read by Katherine Fenton.
Around the world in Britain, the United States, Asia and the Middle East, there are people with power who are cashing in on chaos, exploiting bloodshed and catastrophe to brutally remake our world in their image. They are the shock doctors.
Exposing these global profiteers, Naomi Klein discovered information and connections that shocked even her about how comprehensively the shock doctors' beliefs now dominate our world - and how this domination has been achieved. Raking in billions out of the tsunami, plundering Russia, exploiting Iraq - this is the chilling tale of how a few are making a killing while more are getting killed.

A must read
It’s long, and it’s disturbing but this should be a must read for our times. The book is quite old now but the concepts remain the same. It’s interesting to see how the optimism of the conclusion has planned out now and it won’t take much for you to draw your own conclusions as to why. Incredible work.

Outstanding!
Loved this book from beginning to the end. Well researched, referenced, written and narrated. An essential expose of how the world really works - which is not as we have been told, or tend to believe

For those who care!
This book may anger you, and so it should, and I believe shows how indigenous peoples can teach western society some very important lost morality.
To the vast majority who read it in any case, and they can then speak with by their voting power, and not get taken in by any forked tongue rhetoric.

If you want to stay deluded and Ill informed, don't read this book!!
Despite this book's unapologetic leftist perspective, the skill of the writer and the breadth and depth of knowledge on display make for a clear and convincing argumentative trajectory..
A dark and sobering masterpiece.

A story needed to be told.
Naomi Klein definitely has her own clear view of resent geo political history. A view many would disagree, but Important to debate

Absolutely essential
Do you ever think the world is going to hell and those in power seem unable to stop it? Looking at the world through Klein’s eyes makes you realise that not only are they complicit, the crazed ideologies they dress up as ‘progress’ and ‘growth’ are not only destroying the planet but causing never ending suffering for the people who inhabit it.
A thoroughly fascinating read. Gripping, heart wrenching and a wake up call that should be compulsory reading for all.

Eye-opening and deeply valuable
Besides exploring the characteristics and psychological implications of shock, this book is an essential account of the history and the Story of neoliberalism, and its impacts on the various contries who have experienced it.
