About this listen

In this hilarious short story, two parents encourage their little girl to grow up, and immediately wonder about the repercussions of their decision, while juggling potty training, theme park visits, and the thought of life without her one day. You will see yourself in this story 100 times over. The Short Years is a series of beautiful vignettes folded into a weekend trip and a look into the future. (Contains selected passages from the book The Long Cutie.)

What disappointed you about The Short Years?

This is an utter pile of drivel. Clearly aimed at people who have had children like myself but what a dismal outpouring of the most banal rubbish. Why would anyone think listening to someone relate a monologue description of his childs potty training was funny in any way. I got as far as chapter 2 but couldn't listen to it any further.

Would you ever listen to anything by Dan Alatorre again?
