Fast-pace, action-packed thriller, great narration
This series is getting intense. With Ava’s twin popping up again, there’s action and drama, secrets and lies, conspiracies and sh00tings. This one is another Callahan and Maclane story, and I was here for it. Ava and Mason are tasked with finding a sh00ter on the run and of course, the sights are aimed at them.
It wouldn’t be a Kendra Elliot book without an autopsy or three and the fact-finding mission of the medical examiner. I loved that this one had previous characters popping up again. Zander, Ava’s partner is in it and we get a glimpse of him and Emily from THE LAST SISTER. There’s also Mercy Kilpatrick who comes to save the day with her syringe of crustacean tablets. Then in the epilogue where Ava and Mason finally get their wedding, we hear about guests from pretty much all the other books in Kendra’s BONES SECRETS, CALLAHAN AND MASON and MERCY KILPATRICK SERIES. The guest list is a who’s who of previous couples.
I’ve listened to Emily before in Kendra’s books and she does a fantastic job of putting us right there in the action but also in everyone’s heads. This is a multi-POV book so pay attention because we get inside so many brains!
Pick THE SILENCE for another fast-paced, action-packed thriller with a hint of relationship stuff. But to be fair you can’t go wrong with any of Kendra’s books if you like a good whodunnit!

Very predictable!
Unfortunately the story was very predictable which made listening to it very annoying and frustrating!
