Quite a sad story to start with I felt very sorry for hound and was so nice he got a happy ending to a hard start in life. A lovely book if you like a good historical highlander romance.

This was a sweet and HOT story. I loved that Pearl and the Hound made such a great connection. He'd wanted her for a long time but knew he couldn't have her because she's the laird's daughter, one of his "jewels." It was interesting to learn how the Hound got his raspy voice and when it was revealed it might have made my eyes leak just a bit. The ending was a nice surprise. 😊 I really enjoyed listening to Antony Ferguson perform this story. His raspy voice for the Hound was great. I borrowed this book from the Plus catalogue.
