Critic reviews

"An epic account of the greatest capital accumulator in history." ( The Times)
"An absorbing read ... The Warren Buffett who emerges from these pages is unorthodox, honest, gifted and, in many ways, admirable. In the business of life, however, one suspects that this complex man has rather a lot of debits, as well as credits, on his personal balance sheet." ( Observer)
"A monumental work ... you feel like you've been in the presence of a monumentally flawed but riveting character ... utterly compelling." ( Evening Standard)
"A well-written, forensically researched and sensitive insight into the Midas of our times." ( Spectator)
"Buffett has been ahead of the curve for most of the past fifty years, making him one of the world's richest people. The Snowball provides clues about how he's done it." ( Financial Times)

The first part of this audiobook is the most insightful. The rest is a little wooly, but interesting none-the-less.

Just wish they hadn't abridged the audiobook. Real shame.

Great listen. Unabridged version would have been better

I bought this book several years ago in the conventional printed hardback format. It was too physically large for me to take it to work and read during the long train commute. So I only got to sit down with it during holidays and weekends. But I still never finished it. The audio version has been much more enjoyable. I have studied Warren Buffett for years so there wasn't anything I didn't know in this book. But that said it is very interesting and well put together. Don't bother buying it if you are looking for share tips and get rich schemes as that's not what it's about.

very interesting book on Warren buffett

Fantastic book but why is it abridged? Book feels like it mises sections of his life and it isn't clear when that happens.

My issue is with the abridgement not the book.

This is the second Buffet book i have listened too and it gives an insight not only to the investor but to the man, which is what i wanted.

A good book but why abridged?

A born entrepreneur, a must read for all business heads. Warren Buffet is one of a kind, so much to learn from this genius.

Clever or gifted?

Buffett's life has been full and long but the writer has made it more more than the sum of it's parts and the narrator has given life to his life. Worth listening to from cover to cover.

What a life! What a writer! What a narrator!

I was recommended this book by my uncle as he said it was fitting for my age (in my 20s). It was. Great story, well thought out. Never too technical in the business side.

Great for younger readers

As a huge Buffett/value investing fan I found this a great read. That said, I maybe expected a bit more detail around his thinking towards investments and investment insights, whereas this very much focuses on his life. In hindsight probably a mistake on my part as it doesn't purport to cover this, but felt it was worth mentioning for other readers nevertheless.

great eead

Loved this. Kept me riveted and enjoyed picking up a few life tips from the Sage. I came looking for financial tips but probably came away more inspired to live life with that moral compass firmly in place.

Fascinating life story!
