About this listen
My name is Jupiter Reeves, and I am a fraud.
It's not that what's written about me isn't true. I am the greatest third baseman of my generation, possibly ever. I am surly and unapproachable. I do have a constant scowl with an armor of tattoos.
To the outside world, I play my role as the bad boy of baseball like I was born to do it. But when the doors are closed, and you boil it down, I'm nothing more than a man who lost his heart too young, with no prospect of getting it back... especially as I still have no idea where its current owner is.
That was until I was offered an opportunity I couldn't refuse: Leave the Los Angeles Dodgers—where I've played my entire career—and join The New York Lions in exchange for tracking down the one woman who's consumed me since the day I first saw her fourteen years ago. Job done.
Now we're under the same roof once again, except Marnie Matthews wants nothing to do with me or my heart. So, along with winning the Commissioner's Trophy, I have the added challenge of winning back the only woman I've ever loved before the season ends and convincing her to stay in New York with me.
I might have been stupid enough to lose her once, but I'm definitely not going to do it again. Marnie Matthews is about to become the biggest achievement of my life.

Hooked me in from the very start ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Both the author & narrators were new to me, I chose this book, because I love Baseball. The story and the characters hooked me in from the very start, and kept me fully engaged, so that I finished the book in a day and a half, and was thinking about how the story would play out, even when I wasn't listening.
I have already purchased the other 2 audiobooks that are currently available in the series, and am excited to listen to those too.
I loved the story, the characters, the writing, and both narrators did an excellent job. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Jupiter Reeves has entered the chat 😍
Lulu Moore has a way with writing the swooniest men and most badass females! Like seriously I just want to be bffs with all the girls! 😍
I completely understand the Jupiter Reeves hype, and I am now a card carrying member of the Jupiter Reeves Fan Club 🙋🏻♀️ I love when the guy is grumpy with everyone but her, seeing his happy self in high school, it was so special to see that side of him come back when he was with Marnie. 🥹 He was swoony, sweet, stubborn as heck, and just downright adorable! I loved his dedication to Marnie and winning her back, and slowly opening himself up to others around him.
Marnie was such a badass! Like a legit rocket scientist 😍 The engineer in me was so fascinated by the ideas she was coming up with for the “baseball science” 😅 I just loved how her mind worked! She tried so hard to stay away from Jupiter, but I loved the progression of their reunion. It wasn’t rushed, it was realistic and I liked that it wasn’t a quick forgive and forget. I love the little bit of pain that comes with second chances, but it’s all worth it in the end 🥹
This was such a beautiful second chance romance, and I really loved the back and forth between the past and the present! Seeing the early stages of Jupiter and Marnie’s relationship, the heartbreak and then Jupiter trying to fix what was broken. It was just such a complete story to see all parts of it! (Which you don’t always get with second chances!)
I’ve read all of Lulu’s series out of order but I was just too impatient and wanted to devour them all at once 😅 I love how all the series are interconnected and I can’t wait to read The Baller this month! 😍
Tropes:
- Baseball Romance
- Second Chance
- Opposites Attract
- Workplace Romance
- Found Family
- It Was Always You

Lulu Moore hits it out of the ballpark!
Jupiter Reeves is my favourite baseball star and The Third Baseman, my favourite EVER baseball book. With that in mind, I did wonder if my opinion would change given I could hear Jupiter and Marnie's voices in my head already. The narrators, though, absolutely brought these amazing characters to life and exceled!
I only listened to it last week, and I already want to listen again.
I'd happily recommend this to anyone!
5-stars all round ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
