About this listen
The JPS TANAKH: The Jewish Bible, audio version, is a recorded version of the JPS TANAKH, the most widely read English translation of the Hebrew, or Jewish, Bible. Produced and recorded for The Jewish Publication Society (JPS) by The Jewish Braille Institute (JBI), this complete, unabridged audio version of the Torah features over 14 hours of readings by seven narrators. The Torah is the essence of Jewish tradition; it inspires each successive generation. The current JPS translation, based on classical and modern sources, is acclaimed for its fidelity to the ancient Hebrew.
Funding for this recording is made possible through the generosity of Aaron Feingold, M.D., in memory of Esther Feingold, who saw life "with a good eye" (Pirke Avot); Dr. Seymour and June Kessler, in memory of Harry and Rose Kessler, remembered with love; and Norman and Edith Weisfeld, in loving memory of Benjamin and Rose Krumholz, and David Weisfeld.

Learning the Truth from Torah audiobook
Very good overall impression. Listening is smooth and nice, there are both male and female narrators. You can study and listen while being for example in a park. Good complement to hardcopy of Tanakh. I recommend

Really helpful for this Disabled Jew
I could definitely see areas of improvement and wish the chapters themselves were named as had to spend ages bookmarking the chapters myself so know which part is which but its super helpful to listen to as study the physical copy of scripture infront of me.

WANTED to love this
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
i would only recommend this to someone with "the patience of Job" - although this book is narrated by someone who is lovely to listen to, and the book itself being the foundation of my beliefs, I have to say there is something terribly lacking. I'm not sure if it's the platform (on my desktop) or what, but there are no bookmarks (fine, we'll add our own) but the jumps perfectly align the parshat readings for the week. GREAT you say, no NOT great, it's virtually impossible to "catch" the starts of each reading to place a bookmark, and due to the pathetic platform, if you miss one and have to go back, you need to delete ALL the bookmarks past the one you missed and start over because otherwise THAT bookmark will be at the very bottom of the list (think Bookmark 51 at 13h6m, Bookmark 52 at 3h51m - totally useless). It would be far more helpful if someone at Audible with access to the masterfile, would pop in the bookmarks properly with the NAME of the portion as its title instead. The book itself is a great listen, but for this idiotic lack of bookmarks , just makes the whole experience a lot more frustrating than it needs to be,. I've spent about half an hour of my life I'll never see again trying to place in bookmarks so that I can easily jump to this week's portion... sigh. I give up.
Who was your favorite character and why?
it's the Bible, who do you think it's about?
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
The voice was smooth and pleasant to listen to
Was The Torah: The JPS Audio Version worth the listening time?
Yes, but NOT worth the "attempt to set it up to make it easily usable" time. Not impressed, this isn't a novel you know, it does have a structure.
Any additional comments?
All mentioned above, thank you.
HATE the PC platform, btw... give it three seconds of thought and I'm sure you can come up with something INCREDIBLY more effective than that. C'mon!

Really???
I listened to this in the hope of understanding why religion plays such a large part in people’s lives and why people follow it, rigidly or flexibly. What I found was the most ridiculous, contradictory, outdated and poorly written book of fiction of have ever come across. It baffles me how anyone in the 21st century, with the science and technology we have available to us today, can still read this book and either believe it ever happened or worse still, follow it believing it to be gods word and there is any kind of consequence for not following it. Interesting but as believable as Harry Potter books.
