So good!
This story was short but so good. The author does a great job of building that uneasy feeling throughout the whole story.
Andrew Gibson captures the characters perfectly and he conveys the building tension very well. Looking forward to hearing more from him!

Wow! Just WOW!
I would give this book 10 stars if I could. It is extraordinary. I couldn't stop listening and finished it in 2 sessions. I was completely captivated from start to finish. The scene building, the characters, the dialogue.. I just love it. And the narration was excellent. I can't wait to get stuck into the authors other work!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review

Hamilton Raines loved writing stories as a child, and his mother told him he could be a successful author.
Now later a grown-up, married and divorced did 3 good novels then got writer's block as they call it.
His publisher tells him to go and work from a coffee shop as he needs a new setting, outlook, so he does have a coffee meets a budding author and signs one of his manuscripts A mysterious woman turns up and just like magic his workflows from his fingertips, a new me and a best seller is born but it comes at a price, is he willing to pay it.?

really engaging listen
I thought I'd give this book a go as the idea sounded really good and I'm glad I did as I loved it.
the story follows a writer as he is struggling with his third book until he goes to a coffee shop and meets a new up and coming author. whilst talking to the other author our main character (Hamilton Raine's) meets a beautiful woman called Calliope who turns out to be his muse.
Hamilton then starts writing and finishes his new book which is an instant hit in pre releases.
From that moment on things start to take a dark twist with people seemingly committing suicide all around him, and his muse vanishing Hamilton starts to panic.
I guessed most of the important stuff and how the book would end but there were parts of the story I missed, which made it a brilliant story and very well narrated.

Great story
An interesting psychological thriller that I listened to on audio. The story gradually unwinds drawing you in to Hamilton's life. Struggling with writer's block Hamilton meets another author and a mysterious woman in a coffee shop. These chance meetings are just what he needs to overcome his writer's block, or are they? Weaving the story together, the author captures your attention and draws you into Hamilton's life. This is the first book I've listened to by Andrew Brandt and I will definitely be looking out for more.

Brilliant!
The narrator is astoundingly good and that definitely added to my enjoyment of the book. His range of voices was exquisite.
I very much enjoyed the author's style of writing and carefully chosen words. It was fun finding out how authors feel about certain aspects of their lives through the main character Hamilton's thoughts (Bargain bin!!!)
I can't say anything about the plot as I don't want to give anything away but it is a taut psychological thriller with a good pace throughout and a great ending.
I enjoyed this and will be tracking down some more of the author's work at some point in the future.
