About this listen
Only a fool would target the deadliest order of assassins in the galaxy.
The galaxy had no shortage of fools.
Treachery and deceit were the stock-in-trade of the secretive order of killers, but the tables had been turned. One of their own had fallen victim to a nefarious plot. And very soon, someone would be paying the price.

interesting concept and building an extensive world, both book worth a listen, only downside is bit repetitive on information

Magic vampires and space pirates
I have just finished the first two books in the series and have been caught completely off guard by how much I enjoyed them. I picked them up separately, but they come with the option of a double pack now which I do recommend.
Based on the description I was given elsewhere I figured it would be worth a try, expecting something maybe in the vein of Pratchett, but it's written with a straight face and works brilliantly.
The world building is through enough to understand what is going on without getting overly verbose or self-indulgent, and despite it taking place in a universe where magic developed in place of tech it plays according to grounded rules rather than hand waving miraculous solutions as others might. Following on from the team built in book 1 the story picks up pace and explores a lot more of the worlds and species that exist, the narrative flows beautifully with organic changes in pace and do a lot of work at fleshing out the personalities of the team.
Absolutely worth the listen.
The narrator also gives an excellent performance, and the audio is clean. I can't bring my self to pick at any faults in the writing or the reading, Strongly recommended!
