Summary
Juliette Contzen is a lazy, good-for-nothing princess.
Overshadowed by her siblings, she's left with little to do but nap, read, and occasionally cut the falling raindrops with her sword. Spotted one day by an astonished adventurer, he insists on grading Juliette's swordsmanship, then promptly has a mental breakdown at the result.
Soon after, Juliette is given the news that her kingdom is on the brink of bankruptcy. At the threat of being married off, the lazy princess vows to do whatever it takes to maintain her current lifestyle. Taking matters into her own hands, she escapes in the middle of the night in order to restore her kingdom's finances.

Good premise
It has a good premise and some parts were really enjoyable, but it feels a bit incompleate, like nothing important really happens. It feels like a very long prologue.
Book 2 hopefully fixes that though, as the story really starts picking up.

Good Characterisation
I may be something of a biased reviewer as a fan of Ng's Lilly Clairet series but the way the characters personalities shine through was very enjoyable.
Juliet as a protagonist is enjoyable in how much of an out of touch idiot she is.
I will criticise the novel however on it's pacing. The time between a line of in-story dialogue or action and the next can be quite a stretch due to the MC narrating and commenting on what was just done or said.

It's surprisingly good.
I was not expecting much, but it was actually pretty good. MC is hilariously out of touch and naive, leading to some genuine laugh out loud moments when she's interacting with the common rabble. Some decent narration, too!

Great if rather short book
I quite enjoyed both the story and performance. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was short length of the book if compared to average here.

I hate her
Out of all the stories I've listened too, I have never wanted a character to take a beating more than that annoying, spoilt brat.
