About this listen
George Sephton's relationship with Liverpool Football Club began in 1971 when he wrote to the club secretary applying to be the stadium announcer. His first match also marked the debut of Kevin Keegan. For the past 50 years, Sephton has been at Anfield for all but a handful of home fixtures, as well as travelling with the team to major finals.
From the highs of winning numerous league titles and European Cups, to the lows of Heysel and Hillsborough, Sephton has been with Liverpool through it all. From encounters with great managers and legendary players - from Bill Shankly to Kenny Dalglish, John Barnes to Jurgen Klopp, he tells his unique and entertaining story of the greatest club in the world.
"George Sephton is part of the brickwork of Liverpool Football Club and was witness to so many iconic moments. He has lived through a huge chunk of our history, from when Liverpool were in the Second Division, when he used to come to Anfield with his father, all the way to being crowned World Club and Premier League champions. It's been a rollercoaster ride, and George has been there for all the ups and downs - but mainly the ups." (Sir Kenny Dalglish)

What a great story.
It probably helps that I have been a Reds fan since the late 70’s, but I loved this book. It’s like a trip down memory lane especially since I also grew up near Liverpool and studied there for 3 years. I love the way George makes his announcements at Anfield, very deadpan and none the the currently fashionable razzmatazz, that’s not The Liverpool Way, we don’t need jaz, the players provide that. Great book George, thanks for taking the time to write it.

voice of a legend in my lifetime
George is familiar and famous to any Liverpool fan who's attended match day at Anfield, for me he evokes glorious memories of standing on the Kop as a youth enjoying the glorious football played in front of us. We have songs to sing, as one LFC song goes and George always knows how to get us going by being the conductor to the biggest, best and most boisterous choir in the world. His book is a journey through our memories but more importantly his. it's an interesting life he's led, the people he's met to the ones he loves. I loved every second of this book. reading it is one thing but listening to George narrate his own story is truly an honour. I highly recommend buying this story in any format about the ONE consistent in the last and greatest 50 years of LFC history. George Sephton is as important to our club as Ronnie Moran was, a true legend a true Gent and like us all a die hard Red. YNWA

Very enjoyable listen.
Easy listening. Loved hearing some of the stories of the good old days of football on the pitch in the 70's and 80's.
Well read and well written.
