Summary
'Curl up in a chair with Fenella J. Miller's characters and lose yourself in another time and another place' Lizzie Lane
As war looms, can they keep the home fires burning?
Lady Joanna Harcourt and her daughter Sarah discover their life of luxury at Goodwill House is over. Because with Lord Harcourt away fighting, the Harcourt girls are facing financial ruin.
Lady Joanna is terrified of losing their home, but for Sarah, this means her dreams of becoming a doctor are over. Headstrong Sarah isn’t one to quit! War or not, she’s determined to find a way to save her home and follow her dreams– whatever it takes!
Dashing RAF officer Angus Trent might just save the day. The new RAF base at Manston will soon be full of young women all hoping to serve their country, and Goodwill House will make the perfect home for them. But can Sarah convince Lady Joanna to agree to her plan?
Angus has never met a woman quite like Sarah – courageous, brave, unwavering. She has a huge task ahead of her, but if anyone can do it, his war girl can.
The first book in the brand new Goodwill House series by bestselling author Fenella J. Miller, perfect for fans of Lizzie Lane, Patricia McBride, and Rosie Clarke.

Strange clipped English accents
Enjoyed the story, the narration was quite strange and rather stilted. The characters were good though and overall an enjoyable listen. Hope the narrator was just putting on those voices for this story, as I couldn’t listen to another book if not.

A great audiobook
I enjoyed listening to this World War 2 romance novel. The woman narrating this book is brilliant and it has lots of twists and turns. It is a book that I must recommend.

Goodwill house - the war girls
Brilliant story, wasn’t too keen on the narrator’s voice., although that is just my opinion, others may feel differently. Regardless it’s well worth listening to.

Too mushy for me
I got bored once I realised not much was going to happen. The writing was good but I like my ww2 books to contain more action. A nice love story well written but not for me.

Boring British war story
Very twee and not much happens. Very cliched portrayal of aristocratic family with money worries.

The war girls of goodwill house
I listened to the whole book as I enjoy listening to books based about real life around wartime ( not the fighting), there was no real plot, the book rambled on with no real ending.
I waited for the punchline, the high point but it didn’t happened. I’m left asking, what was the point of the French aristocrats?
I felt like the book had come to an end half way through and there was still more to tell.

My sort of story
First time with this author and I was very impressed. Wasn’t so keen on the narrator she was good but didn’t have to emphasise some of the characters. But will be looking for more of her books
