Stephanie has been one of my favorite authors for a while and I am proud to say I discovered her before she was signed with a publisher, and her books have only gotten better since. I love that she sets her stories in British Columbia, which is special to me since I spent some time there as a student.

I’d been waiting for Hayden and Darcy’s story, and The Wingman totally delivered! It has all my favorite tropes—best friends to lovers, forced proximity, and a little “practice dating”—all of which made it nearly impossible to put down.

I loved that Darcy is a math whiz and that she’s a book nerd and a people pleaser because I found it so relatable (not the math though, I am terrible with numbers hihi). Hayden’s character really sees her, especially the parts she tries to hide. Their friendship lets them open up, be vulnerable, and actually get closer, making their romance feel so genuine and heartfelt.

I also love that Hayden lives in Gastown. When I was a broke student in Vancouver, I lived out in Burnaby but spent most of my time in Gastown, working as a dishwasher at a local restaurant in the afternoons. Seeing glimpses of this town that holds so many memories for me made the story feel even more special.

I already can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Basically if Stephanie writes it I’m going to read it, I know I’m going to laugh when I read her books but I also know I’m going to swoon too! I love that all her audiobooks are in Duet as it’s a bit of change to other audio! Nelson Hobbs was a new to me narrator but I felt he captured Hayden’s personality so well! And as far as I’m concerned Andi Arndt can’t do no wrong!

The groups dynamic as always had me laughing and loving all of them, I loved Hayden and Darcy’s inside jokes and the evident history there! Hayden was an absolute winner for me and the way he just wanted to give Darcy the world!

Oh I have been waiting for Hayden and Darcy since we first met them and let me tell you the wait was worth it!

It was obvious to everyone that Hayden was in love with Darcy aside from Darcy and her [insert unmentionable name] of a ex fiancé Kit. Hayden kept himself at arms length to protect himself from getting hurt all while unconsciously waiting for Darcy to be ready for him to step up to the plate. When she finally leaves Kit after 8 years, Darcy goes on a journey of rediscovery.

𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕪𝕠𝕦. ℕ𝕠 𝕠𝕟𝕖'𝕤 𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣 𝕘𝕠𝕥𝕥𝕖𝕟 𝕡𝕣𝕠𝕥𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝕞𝕖 𝕝𝕚𝕜𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥.

I adored how Hayden gave her a choice in everything they did; how he championed her and celebrated her uniqueness. At the same time, I loved how Darcy recognised that Hayden always takes care of others and sometimes someone needs to take care of him. They are perfect together.

Steph really knows how to write a story with spicy lessons. It’s something that she does really well but feels refreshing with each set of characters. So when these two finally give in to the tense it was 🥵🥵 but at the same time really felt like they created a safe and respectful atmosphere.

Overall this was a fab read and I loved mixing it up by listening to some parts on audio and then picking right back up on my kindle.

I’ve noted re style of narration as I know people do have their preference , personally I don’t mind duet or dual I enjoy both.

I only discovered Stephanie book just over 12 months ago and since then I have read them all.

This was one that I was really looking forwarded to. Since meeting both character in the previous 2 instalments in the series I couldn’t wait to see how they finally revealed their feeling to each other.

Great plot and the duet style narration really works well .

If your looking for something with a great story, the characters build each other up , some amazing spice then grab those headphones and get listening

I don’t usually write reviews, but the way the author has written the dynamic between Hayden and Darcy is so heartwarming. The way he treats her and strives to lift her up in spite of himself at every turn actually makes my heart ache and. There’s so much depth to each character and so many lighthearted moments to counteract the emotion too.

Loved it!!!

The wingman is such a good book, I got the opportunity to read and listen to the audiobook , it is a best friends to lovers , hockey romance with a data analyst FMC. I absolutely love Hayden’s character, he is the swoonest MMC & the things he does for Darcy is so cute.

It was so much fun reading their story, I loved the writing and how engrossing the story gets. The whole just friends moments were funny when you could see what they really wanted to say. Some parts are really funny too, the interactions between them and others as well.

I’m looking forward to the next one , that little hint drop made me eager.

The way the MMC treats her

I loved the first books, but had trouble with this one, stopped about 1/4 in, as I couldn't continue listening to the judgemental female lead. for someone who is supposed to be a friend of years she categorises her friend as a player and seems to have no clue who he is, nor listen to what he actually says. she has made up her mind that he doesn't want commitment while all he says and does screams the opposite. Not the actions of a true friend, she doesn't listen and doesn't seem to actually care much beyond his benefit to her due to his exterior traits.

Very disappointing and off putting to be honest.
