Against her better judgment, Elizabeth begins teaching Tegan the ways of the Hedge Witch, in the process awakening memories - and demons - long thought forgotten.

Completely Wrapped in this story! Loved it

Good but took awhile to get into.

It is an interesting diversion.
If you like books about magic & history it's for you. not as good as discovery of witches but similar premis. couple of dodgy accents in the narration

Enjoyable blend of fantasy and time travel
“The Witch’s Daughter” presents three time travel stories centring on a Witch, Elizabeth Anne Hawksmith, The first tale is set in Wessex, 1627-28, the second in London, 1888, and the last at Passchendaele, Flanders in 1917. The three are tied together by a frame story set in the present which concerns A growing relationship between Elizabeth and her young friend Tegan.
It is an interesting atmospheric tale, well written and the characters—especially Elizabeth—are believable. I found that the mix of time travel and fantasy elements worked effectively. Perhaps some of the plot twists were predictable, especially in the second story but generally the book held my interest right to the end.
The narration by Marisa Calvin was brilliant and much of my enjoyment came from her splendid performance.

Disappointingly inaccurate and littered with mispronunciations
I know that many will find the heading strange due to the subject matter commonly (mistakenly) being thought of as ‘fantasy’, however the inaccuracies surrounding the old religion are hard to see past and completely spoil an otherwise decent story. The switch from hedge witchery to horror was jarring and unnecessary. I would have much preferred the ending to have been in a similar vein as the bulk of the story and less of a cliche. The awful mispronunciation of various simple words by the narrator grated dreadfully.

A bit on the slow side but lovely
Slow paced sometimes and the Scottish accent was not good, but overall really nice to listen to, like a nice companion :)

catherine cookson meets jeanette frost
What made the experience of listening to The Witch's Daughter the most enjoyable?
The story really wrapped around you and drew you in. Lovely story. Bess's character was so warm and gently. Very calming and relaxing read.
What other book might you compare The Witch's Daughter to, and why?
As I said in my header, catherine cookson meets jeaneette frost or charlaine harris but without the sex and violence.

It was a lovely interesting but also relaxing read. Not boring, thestory was very good.
