About this listen
One day, sitting in traffic, Stella Sweeney attempts a good deed. The resulting car crash changes her life.
But in this event is born the seed of something which will take Stella thousands of miles from her old life, turning an ordinary woman into a superstar, wrenching her whole family apart. For the first time real, honest-to-goodness happiness is just within her reach.
But is Stella Sweeney, Dublin housewife, ready to grasp it?

Overlong and underedited.
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, I'm afraid not. My other comments will explain why,
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The basic story was intriguing. The structure was clever, leading me to persevere because I wanted to know how the story had arrived at the scenario at the beginning. But it was twice as long as it needed to be. There was far too much detailed narrative, so that it became tedious. The worst parts were the repeated and utterly superfluous detailed sex scenes. Sometimes less is more.
What does Aoife McMahon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
She is a good narrator, with nice pace and an ability to distinguish between different characters without resorting to silly voices. I think I would have give up if she hadn't been so pleasant to listen to.
Did The Woman Who Stole My Life inspire you to do anything?
Not to read anything else by this author!
Any additional comments?
Sorry if this sounds very negative; for the first few hours I quite enjoyed the book, and I am sure lots of people will not share my opinion. I could not give it fewer than three stars, but that is largely because of an interesting idea and good narration.

Ran out of steam half way through
A book of two halves. I loved the first half of the story introducing Stellah and her family, navigating her life and the trauma of Guillan Barrie’s syndrome and her time in hospital. The part where she was in the USA was OK then the book really ran out of steam for me and as she returned to Ireland and her feckless ex husband things got boring. I pushed on to the end but wish I had the abridged version for the second half of the book

Marian Keyes can do no wrong
I love Marian Keyes’ books. I am binging them all again and although I got cross with Stella (a lot) it was brilliant! Am bereft now it’s over. Which is standard when her books reach the end.

Fantastic 1st half, then less good 2nd
I was hooked at 1st. It really spoke to me, despite the fact I dislike time hopping narratives. Overall a good read but, in the 'awake' or post illness section of book there were too many different avenues or tangents for my liking.

The woman who stole my life
As usual a superb book from Marian Keyes I loved the narrator a beautiful voice some narrators seem to be too close to the microphone and the sound is not smooth but the narrator telling this story had a lovely voice. Highly recommend I even listened to it twice.

Loved this book. Would have loved it more if..
There was a nonsensical "said.." then "said...." throught a short verbal interaction of characters. It was clear via narrator who was whom...

Unusual storyline
Very unusual premise of what happens if you are trapped in your own body and what that can mean for your whole family and friends.
I loved this but it can get confusing as it jumps from before and after the traumatic accident (all through the book) that befalls the main character.
I thought the narrator captured the characters very well. A ll were distinctive enough to know instantly so the story flew along.
A very interesting read that left me thinking what would happen to my family in this situation and how one small decision could change your life forever.
Great book.

This was such a lovely book, makes me want to know more about the medical issues that was being treated and the communication between people that are paralysed.
