Summary

Vampires, werewolves, reapers, ghosts, and world mythology clash in this action-packed, snarky, and romantic young adult urban fantasy adventure.

She wields the power to change fate. And it absolutely terrifies her.

When her sister is abducted by supernatural forces, Upstate New York high school student Tasia is thrust into an ongoing shadow war between vampires and reapers, and awakens an incredible magical power within herself.

Too bad she’s too afraid to use it. The excruciating side effects don't help things, either.

To find her sister, Tasia will need to team up with Ace, a handsome and mysterious vampire who steals her breath away (but hopefully not her blood). They'll have to battle ghosts, vampires, reapers, and even werewolves as they navigate through two hostile worlds at war.

If she doesn't hurry up and figure out a way to track down her sister's kidnappers while overcoming the pain and fear of using her new abilities, she'll lose Ace, her sister, and everything she loves.

Threads of Fate is the first novel in M. W. Arita's Vampireaper series, a young adult urban fantasy adventure packed with breathtaking twists and turns, a vampire friends-to-lovers romance, and an unhealthy dose of wacky humor.

This book contains mild spoilers for the first season of The Soulbound Sorceress but can be listened to and enjoyed as its own stand-alone story.

Click "Buy Now" and join Tasia and Ace in a fun-filled frenzy of fur, fangs, and phantoms!

Vampireaper - so many twists and turns - amazing!

This book has made driving less boring for me. I loved Ace since he rocked up in The Soulbound Scar (which was the first MC Waring book I listened to), so I really enjoyed the fact he’s a huge part of this story. There were lots of references made to books and superheroes which was great as I love a lot of that stuff! Although my favourite reference was “I have an army” “but we have a wolf” it gave me flashes to Avengers Assemble where iron man and Loki had a similar conversation! The references to the Mortal Instruments was pretty good too, especially since I have started reading those recently.

There was a lot going on in the story, but nothing got lost along the way and seemed to fit together seamlessly. Naturally there’s still many questions, like where does Tasia's power come from? Does Vivi have powers too, if not how did she help Tasia? Does the hunter go after Mira and her vamps? Does Gwen finally become friends with Tasia, and does she find her maker and remove her curse? Can they find a cure for Sonny, or can Gwen undo it since she infected him? Where is Hat and what does he want from Tasia, and why does he really hate the Drapani line? What is the full story between Mira and the reaper queen? And what is up with Rachel? But I know this first book is M.C Waring setting things up for the wider story moving forward as with her other series. I liked the turn of events where it revealed Tasia and Vivi’s mother was the remnant, especially after it looked like it was just the school clown that felt isolated and alone. The many mentions of Alice has me wanting to get up to speed with The Soulbound books!

Alex has done a superb job of narrating. I didn’t find her voice difficult to listen to like some narrators can be. She did well to voice each character differently, which in my opinion is what makes a good narrator. I knew which characters were which just by how she voiced them!
