Another great historical novel from Gregory
In the author's notes Phillips Gregory says that very little is known about Margaret Tudor, sister of Henry VIII and Queen of Scotland. She has taken that knowledge and woven a vast story around it, full of family rivalries, love and adventure. It is well told, although possibly a little too long. The narration is excellent. The overriding theme - that women, however royal, have been the chattels of men throughout history - is presented very persuasively, and such is the power of Gregory's story telling that it is hard to see which aspects of Margaret Tudor's life are based on historical facts, and which are entirely assumed. I enjoyed it very much

Stunningly Beautiful
This book - for me as a great fan of all things Tudor was stunningly beautifully written and read. I have been derelict in everything whilst listening to this book ..... my focus was on the next chapter and the next.
I own and have read every book written by Philippa Gregory and have listened to the books available on Audible.
Thank you for bringing these treasures into the lives of myself and many millions of others ...... it is truly appreciated.

Best one yet
Would you listen to Three Sisters, Three Queens again? Why?
I seem to be addicted to historical fiction so when I started to listen to yet another Philippa greggorys books , I wasn't very impressed, thinking it would be another of the same ilk. I was wrong, I couldn't stop listening to it. It is passionate and so well written and even though I know my history I was still left wondering what would happen next
Who was your favorite character and why?
It is so easy to identify with all the characters I can't have a favourite
What does Bianca Amato bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Her voice is hypnotic and delicate and lends itself well to this kind of book
I can't think of a better narrator for it

History's great women
Fabulous romantic and painfully heartbreaking at times .
This allegory of Margaret Queen of Scots takes us on a journey of love , honour betrayal and loss .
Through the love and lives of these 3 sister queens .
I highly recommend this to all women , mothers and queens .

Ok, but not great
I love Philippa Gregory's books, but this one is not one of her best. It is slow and way too focused on a specific central theme. I guess I consider the characters a tad too one-dimensional.

Beautiful book beautifully narrated.
I am very interested in the historic period around Henry VIII and Elizabeth rule. Read a lot of historical books and enjoyed historical fiction. This book opened a lot of doors and nuances unknowingly ignored and helped to understand both periods as well as some very contemporary things much better. I read a lot of Phillips Gregory book and this one became one of me favourites. I will definitely return to listen to it again. The narrator did an excellent job. With accents and correct intonations and nuances. It was a great experience.
