About this listen

The Bachelor meets The Hunger Games. Ten women. A deadly contest. Only one can win the Sun King's heart.

Lor has endured twelve long years of torment under the Aurora King's rule. Her only desire is to get free and pay him back for every moment of misery she's endured.

When a surprise release finds her in the hands of the Sun King, Lor is thrust into the spotlight as she competes against nine other tributes for the role of queen. If she wins his heart, she'll earn her freedom and finally get her revenge.

But Lor doesn't belong in the Sun Queen trials. Not only does she not understand why she was freed, she isn't a citizen of the Sun King's court. The other tributes resent her presence and will stop at nothing to ensure Lor is wiped off the gameboard—permanently.

Now Lor must win because if she loses, she dies. Or worse, she'll be sent back into the hands of the Aurora King.

This glittering fae romance is perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Jennifer Armentrout, and Raven Kennedy. Trial of the Sun Queen is the first book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series with an eventual happy ever after.

Loved this book

So, I have listened to the whole series now and it was definitely worth both my time and credits. The books is well written and the plot twists aren’t obvious. In this first book I had the feeling that the romance wasn’t believable, but bare with it. The world is easy to understand but not simple, the magic system isnt in focus much which is fine, and the characters are believable and relatable. Its just spicy enough but never over the top. Its overall a good listen and I have not been disappointed a single time throughout this series. I definitely recommend!

Good strong start

This was a really fun, quick-paced romantasy with a trial element. A little predictable but still fun overall!

A lot fun

I enjoyed it and will move on to book 2 directly. Even though the story is quite obvious it’s a fresh take on fae. So I look forward to the rest of the series.

Gripping story

Similar to TOG and ACOTAR so if you enjoy those you will enjoy this, predictable in some places but still a very good story

Good book

Unlike the other reviews I didn't find this like ACOTAR / TOG, it's not in the same league but it's a fun, easy story. I wish they swapped narration throughout the book using the male narrator for male characters instead of dividing it by chapter. It's a shame as the male narrator Corvin King, well let's just say he's the reason I stayed with this book. An easy, frivolous story that won't rock your world like ACOTAR / TOG but doesn't set your teeth on edge like the endless details in Jennifer L. Armentrout's books.

Holy gods the male narrator would make a shopping list sound wonderful
