Summary

A missing girl in Caribbean paradise. And an old flame to complicate the trip.

Check out this beach-y Violet Darger short, featuring Darger, Loshak, Owen, and Spinks.

When 17-year-old Micaela Tolliver goes missing during her beach vacation, FBI profiler Violet Darger heads to Curacao to investigate. The case vexes local law enforcement, with plenty of suspicious characters around and comparisons to Natalee Holloway aplenty.

Red herrings. False starts. People who will go great lengths to protect the island's long-held secrets.

Further complications emerge due to someone else entangled in the case—Darger's old friend and former lover, private investigator Owen Baxter. They're working together for the first time after a bad breakup. The tension is palpable, and Darger begins to question the knot of conflicts in her own heart.

Corruption. Death. Sand. Romance.

Once again, Violet Darger shines her light into the shadows. And what she finds there in the darkness will change her.

The Violet Darger novels can be listened to in any order.

A murder in paradise

The audio book of Trouble In Paradise is a thrilling murder mystery by the great duo of Tim McBain and LT Vargus. Beautifully read be Natalie Naudus who really bought the story and the characters to life.
On this occasion Violet Darger and her partner Victor Loshak (FBI behavioural analysts)are joined by Spinks (a reporter who is writing a book about Loshak and who joins Loshak in his own book series).
They are called to a Caribbean island by Owen (who happens to be Violets ex!) to try and find a missing girl and they are only given 2 days to do it in before the FBI wants them back.
In this book there is more relaxation and getting to know the characters a little better rather than full on serial killer fighting for their lives action.
It was a refreshing change- but that’s not to say I don’t want to get back to the fighting for their lives, simply that it made a nice change of gear.
I would highly recommend it whether you’ve read or listened to the rest of the series or not.
