Summary

A corgi and a cat with noses for trouble. A missing diamond necklace. A jewel thief with a thirst for secrecy.

When a pet owner leaves her dog and cat at Trinity’s pet daycare and doesn’t return by the day’s end, Trinity takes the animals home. What she discovers there is a ransacked home with no sign of the pet owner.

To make matters worse, a new cop of the Waterfall Police force thinks Trinity is the main suspect. She can’t help it if she has a talent for trouble. An ability to solve crime. A skill to almost getting herself killed by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Will this time be the time she meets her untimely end?

Double the trouble, double the mystery

I really enjoyed this book. The pet side of the story is fun and entertaining and being a pet owner very easy to imagine. I love the way the author keeps coming up with different ways to invent business for the pet shop. The characters are like able and I enjoyed the way Trinity's parents got involved with the case, I hope they stick around, especially as they adopted the trouble twosome. The mystery itself was interesting and covered lots of different motives and suspects. It just a nice, fun easy, cozy mystery packed full of fur babies.
Trinity day care/pet shop don't normally look after cats for just a day but when a busy pet owner drops of her car and corgi, Trinity soon finds out the pair can't be separated for a very good reason. At the end of a very long and noisy day when she falls to return for her pets, Trinity is quick to drop them off. Only to find the house ransacked and the owner dead on her bedroom floor. With the high crime rate lately the sheriff department hires a new detective, who quick puts Trinity at the stop of his suspects list as the killer looking for attention. Trinity is determined to stay off his radar by staying away from the case but the dead woman's daughter has other ideas and offers Trinity a lot of money to help find her mothers jewellery. But is she telling her everything? Trinity doesn't find the jewellery but she does find a safety deposit box and and letter blaming her own death on Bill and something he did at a nursing home. Can Trinity find a new for ever home for the trouble twosome, find the missing jewels and catch a killer? She will just have to work out who Bill is.
I liked the narrator. She helps the story flow along nicely by putting on a good performance.
