Summary

On top of the world ...in a house of cards

The tabloids tracked his every move. The business magazines predicted his demise. And the public couldn't get enough. But the only people privy to Donald Trump's real story were the members of his inner circle - men such as Jack O'Donnell, a top executive at Atlantic City's Trump Plaza Casino until April, 1990. For three years O'Donnell witnessed the goings-on in the House of Trump that the people only guessed at. Now he reveals what he saw.

Here's the inside story of Trump's legendary tirades, his convenient forgetfulness, and the infamous Donald Trump ego. O'Donnell tells how the Plaza staff catered to Trump's personal whims, and to those of his mistress - and how the man who built the largest gambling hall in the world knew little about running a casino.

From the hypocrisy, bad deals, and the monumental debt to the untold tales of Marla and Ivana, Trumped! rips the mask off the mighty Trump facade - revealing a man whose castle is about to collapse.

kevin nailed it

Highly entertaining and witty book on trump.
This is the 2nd audiobook that I have purchased about trump. The first one was disloyal by micheal cohen. This audiook is just as good and enlightening. And a much clearer picture has emerged having finished this book. But for all his shortcomings, trump is an interesting and unique character. And you can rely on kevin pierce to deliver first class narration.

Objective and interesting

Initially I was wary of this book unsure of the authors objectivity. In fact the book feels to be an honest portrayal of John O'Donnell's interaction and relationship with Donald Trump. in fact many of the behaviours and attitudes of Donald Trump that he describes are consistent with his reported behaviour in his current job. i would high recommend reading this book

A page turner listen!

If you could sum up Trumped! in three words, what would they be?

Great story, easy to listen to, entertaining, and an insight in the next of President of the USA.

For all those interested in the future president of the USA.

What did you like best about this story?

The story gives a deep insight about Donald, showing his many flaws, and difficult mannerism. If he runs the USA like he does his casino, then America is going to be bankrupt even worst than the time of George Bush!

Have you listened to any of Kevin Pierce’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No - first one - but very good

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Trump playing with his children, giving a small human glimpse into him.

Any additional comments?

This book is written by a former employee of Trump - working directly with him at the executive level in the 1980s-90s for 3 years. In it you get: 1. The truth about some of stories in Donald's own book "Art of the Deal" 2. How Donald got involved in gambling and the story behind the Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Castle, Trump Plaza and what led to its failure 3. An insight to Donald's personality 4. His relationship with his wife Ivanka and Marla Maples/other women 5. Death of Trumps 3 top executive in a helicopter accident and the human element behind it.

Let me say, I dislike Trump, however I feel that some elements of the book were not fair to Donald, in that in did not emphasise the positive of Donald Trump - the fact he ran multiple properties, the fact he had a big vision, how he gets the best people to work for him, his mastery of publicity. The writer is a disgruntled former employee of Donald Trump who writes very little of his own shortcomings. He glosses over the fact that he felt anger of being overlooked for a promotion, that he found it difficult to fire people, that in his final year the Trump Plaza managed by him was running a loss, that he allowed a billionaire to gamble at the Casino - that person won 6 million from the Plaza (later regained after he left).

Having said that, and having read multiple biographies of Trump - there is a common pattern - Donald is a sociopath - he has no empathy for people. He is cruel beyond belief. He is good at public relations. He is intelligent -eg. if someone asks for a raise, he will try to blame that person for something else in order to reduce/not pay that person. He is unappreciative of the people who work for him.

I would ask all Americans and others read this book to see some element of this President who is going to run the free world.

Trump is a nightmare with wings!
